I'm having serious problems getting started painting my Lord Commissar and a normal commissar (the one that looks like he's running or making an attack). I really haven't been able to find sources on how to paint commissars. Bleh, I don't really know why I'm having such a hard time, I guess I just really don't know where to start. Also, I'm not sure how much of my color scheme goes into the commissar paint scheme... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There's a nice video of painting a commisar here which should help:

Am I right in thinking that they aren't supposed to be from the same place as the regiment their attached to? If so then there's no need to incorporate any of the colour scheme from the rest of your troops.

Commissars will never have the same color scheme as the rest of your troops, at least if you're trying to be fluffy.

The Commissariat wears black uniforms, pressed neatly and kept as clean as possible, with gold brocade and piping. The sashes can be any kind of contrasting or complimenting color.
