Hi I'm relatively new to the game and just picked up the Grey night codex, theres one thing that I don't understand which is the Exitus Rifle.

How do you now what Strength X is? For example if I shot with a Turbo-Penetrator round what would I need to roll to wound. I cant seem to find a rule for strength X.

Thanks in advance

on the forum. Obviously

It's a sniper rifle, so it doesn't have a normal S value. The X means that it's a poisoned weapon that always wounds on a 4+ (unless you use hellfire rounds. I think that's what's its called anyway).
So for the TP rounds, you wound on a 4+ and since the Rifle is AP1 they don't get a save, resulting in an instant 2 wounds. Note that the target will still get a cover or Invulnerable save if he gets one.

X means the weapon has its own rules for rolling to wound. It doesn't always mean its poisoned. Similer, but not the same thing.

Sniper Rifles always wound on a 4+ regardless of Toughness according to the main rule book. So the Turbo-penetrator and Shield Breaker rounds will need a 4+ to cause a wound on something with a T value. the Hellfire round alters this as it also has the poisoned(2+) special rule. instead of wounding on a 4+ it will wound on a 2+.

the other 2 rounds have their own additional rules.

They weren't poisoned in 4th, either. They WERE poisoned in the Catachan Codex and the WD Cityfight Sniper could upgrade to poisoned rounds.
