Hey all, looking for battletech minis that look like robotech minis..does anyone know if battletech or even mechwarrior have Minis that are similar in size shape and look to the following minis?

Oooooooh boy. You're looking for the 'Unseen'.

Well, the Veritech Guardian/Battloid figures are the Stinger LAM model, which you'll have to look around to find:

The Officer's Battlepod is the Unseen Marauder:

And, of course, the Warhammer is the Unseen... Warhammer:

And a quick bit on the 'Unseens', just in case you don't know about them:

Most of the Unseens are mech designs (and their corresponding looks) that were originally released when the game first came out. (While most are 3025 some came from later releases and a couple are Clan designs.) Most were copied from Robotech Macross, but some came from Gundum and other anime sources. In an effort to avoid a lawsuit from tenuous licensing the designs were declared "Unseen" and replaced with different designs. When the designs were declared Unseen the miniatures were discontinued. Some of the Unseen miniatures have showed up on Ebay as recasts (somewhat blatantly, and illegally) but most have become hard to find.

Now, some models, like the Warhammer and Marauder, became 'Reseens' - i.e., they were redesigned and rereleased.

The RaiderX is the Battletech Rifleman, IIRC.

The Spartan was the Archer.

The Battletech Warhammer is actually a Tomahawk, IIRC.

And yeah, finding them in metal will be hard. But there are some Revell model kits out there in 1:144 and 1:200.

Here's a Battletech to Macross conversion chart for you.
http://brianscache.com/unseen/

The old 90's battletech starter box had a bunch of plastic versions of the unseen. They wreren't great models, but they were sufficient for gameplay. They show up from time to time on ebay or BT and aren't too expensive. The metal ones are quite pricey however.

Best of luck in the search.

Ho ho!

I have all the original models in metal, some painted and some still in blister.

I am not sure whether to keep them for playing or sell them to fund my retirement.

Retirement is right, especially for the new in blister ones. Examples in just decent condition can go for very high prices depending on which mech. Marauders are notorious for high prices.

OP, hope youve got lots of funds, gathering all these will be expensive, especially if you need several of each.

The mech known as the Warhammer in Battletech is the Destroid Excalibur in Robotech.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

The Crusher Joe and Macross 'unseen' have for the last two years been re-licensed.

Only the Robotech designs remain unseen. That misses some of the best looking mechs, but at least we have the Locust back.

By the way, I just got an Unseen Shadow Hawk in a trade, and should have an Unseen Battlemaster coming in too. Very, very awesome looking model. I'm going to have to give it a paintjob it deserves.

I've been meaning to get an Unseen Marauder for quite awhile for my Clan Sea Fox.

Not any more. They were pulled back into the Unseen a couple months ago. Everything that used to be Unseen is Unseen again.

Any particular reason, or has Catalyst just dropped the ball completely?

Catalyst thought they had them back and even published the 25 years of battletech art book, and then realized they didn't have all their legal ducks in a row and had to recall the book.

They DID re-acquire the rights to most of them, but it turns out there was other aspects of the original legal decision about them that CGL decided not to even press the issue anymore.

Precisely!

I'm a bit disapointed about it, as the unseen designs are still some of my favorites and I'd like to see the unseen back in the game. However, I've got all my original TRO's and novels with the unseen in them and my plastic unseen, so that will have to do. I'd like to hope that they will someday be brought back, but now that we have redesigns of most all the unseens and even redesigns of the LAM's via TRO 3085, I don't see it happening anymore.

As long as you aren't a Demo Agent or bringing your minis to an official CGL game, you can still use them all you like. No problems at all.

I used to have a bunch of these in 1/72 scale back in the late 80s until the mid-90s (lost them somewhere).
