In the Ring of Debris Around Uranus

Craftworld Saim-Hann, Fer’al L’bryss Family District:
Eiluj Nerad had been a Farseer for the craft world of Saim-Hann for nearly 2000 years. He had guided and preserved his Wild Rider Family and Craftworld on many occasion. He had come to his meditation chamber near the infinity circuit and the dome of crystal seers to ponder a serious decision. News had reached the craft world that the Imperium of Man had settled on one of the Eldar Maiden Worlds. This world called Seay’leane or named by the Imperial ‘Mon-Keigh’ had named the Last Square. The Imperium had been warned that this world was claimed by the Eldar and was planned for colonization in the next thousand years. Needless to say, the Imperium had not headed the Eldar’s warning and settled it and began setting up mining operations on the mineral rich world.
Eiluj could not help but wince at the thought of what those ‘Mon-Keighs’ had already done to the beautiful garden world that the Eldar had spent tens of thousands of years preparing. In a five short cycles the Imerium had raped an ugly scar across the beautiful land.
Eiluj tried to clear his mind and think objectively. He removed runes from his belt pouch and began to meditate. Trying to see all possible futures and outcomes was exhausting, but necessary to guide and protect a race and people so close to extinction. Was it worth diverting resources and sacrificing life to remove the Imperial blight on Seay’leane or was it best to leave the humans alone for now.
A flash of a a possible future caused Eiluj to come out of his trance and quicken his breathing. To his horror Eiluj saw the taint of Chaos work its way onto the planet if the hoomans were allowed to remain on this world. ‘No. thought Eiluj, the hoomans must be removed from their planet.’
Eiluj tucked his runes away and rose to leave his meditation chambers, his heart quicked along with his steps. He knew he could convince his family to go to war, but would he be able to convince all of the families of the craft world. A slight smile crept across the seer’s face. He would use his craft worlds deep sense of honor to convince them to remove the dishonorable ‘Mon-Keigh’! Prepare yourselves hoomans!

The Battle Report
The roll of ends up making this battle Capture and Control and Spear Head Deployment
The luck of the Eldar is not present when a 1 is rolled to see who will go first - a sinking feeling begins to come over Eiluj until Dajobe rolls a 2, making Eiluj think maybe the fates are against us both.
The Guard choose to go first and deploy on the upper left hand corner of the board, leaving the lower left to the Eldar. D3 Dice mark the objectives.

Post Eldar Deployment - “Please don’t shoot me ‘Mon-Keigh’!”
Turn 1 - Imperial Guard
The Leman Russ Demolisher rolled into dangerous terrain and rolled a 1 - immobilizing it (unlucky start to the IG turn). A lot of shooting but unfortunately not a lot for them to see to shoot at. Dajobe manages to immobilize the top right wave serpent - making the anxious Fire Dragons inside unable to join the rest of the gang.

Turn 1 - Eldar
Eiluj in the lowest wave serpent fortunes his ride. The seer council fortunes themselves and guides the vypers behind them, passing all the psychic tests. The two fire dragon serpents and Eiluj turbo boost towards the left side of the board to hopefully tackle the Leman Russ and the Devil Dog there. The lower Fire Prism moves to support them. The Seer Council and Vypers veer towards the immobilized Leman Russ Demolisher and command squad hiding in terrain. The top Fire Prism moves to support and try to remove the top chimera as a threat. The Vypers manage to wreck the immobilized Leman Russ Demolisher. The seer council spears the Chimera and then assaults and multiple assaults to include the Sentinel destroying the sentinel. The IG squad takes one wound and fails leadership test and is overrun destroying the squad and the council consolidates. A chimera is destroyed by the top fire prism. The other prism scatters into the wind.

Turn 2 - Imperial Guard
Reinforcements arrive a large platoon squad arrives with a Commisar, which rappid fires into the Seer Council and pummels them with fire. The resulting shots manage to kill one Warlock with destructor, but thanks to fortune keeps the rest alive. The top Leman Russ ponderously advances towards the seer council. A squad of troops comes in from reserves and shoes that must be tied together muttle their way towards the IG objective. The lower left Leman Russ and the Devil Dog continue to close on the Eldar’s flank and fire but are unable to do any damage. The master of ordinace calls in an ordinace bombardment, but gets the coordinants wrong and scatters off the board. The rest of the IG does not wound any Eldar models.

Turn 2 - Eldar
The IG command squad tries to disrupt reinforcements to arrive for the Eldar however with two 5’s rolled both dire Avenger Squads are in. Once moves twelve inches in on the far left board to get a rear armor shot at the Devil Dog. Two fire dragon squads disembark. One fires at the Leman Russ and mass epic fails shooting except for one lone dragon (not even the Exarch) who can moves can’t shoot it. The second squad with Eiluj attack the Devil Dog also epically failing except for one Jimmy that immobilizes it and the DA wave serpent takes out a weapon and makes it so it can not move or shoot. The fire prism epically fails to wound the Leman Russ Tanks being targeted by the fire dragons. Meanwhile the Dire Avengers that arrive on the far right lower corner move 12” and disembark the Avengers inside. The fire dragons there move to within 2” of the serpent to embark the next turn. The fire prism on the upper right corner of the field unleashes its large pie plate of doom on the Platoon squad, aided by the Vyper Squadron causing 13 wounds. The sergeant keeps the squad from falling back, thanks to the stern look of the Comissar. The Seer council spears the upper Leman Russ - immobilizing it. They then multi charge the Leman Russ destroying it and assaulting command squad and killing 1 wound and winning close combat by one, the command squad passes morale staying in combat and consolidating the seer council to the command squad. The two fire dragon squads assault the Leman Russ and Devil dog and explode both killing one fire dragon (probably one of the ones that actually managed to hit the Devil Dog in the shooting phase), ending turn 2.

Turn 3 - Imperial Guard
Two squads of veterans - one with Melta and one with Plasma guns comes in from reserves and comes in on the right upper flank. The Melta guns explode the upper right fire prisms in an awesome display of firepower. The plasma guns manage to prevent a vyper from shooting and stripping a bright lance from it. The close combat with the command squad and the seer council continues resulting in 1 wound on the command squad who passes leadership and the combat continues.

Turn 3 - Eldar
The Eldar move and immobilize the new chimera carrying the plasma gun veteran squad. The surviving fire prisms moves to unleash the large pie plate of hell on the foot plasma gun squad the is to the right of the platoon killing seven and the two remaining guardsmen fall back just within a few millimeters away from table edge. The seer council finishes off the command squad and consolidates towards the IG objective. The fire dragons load up into the DA’s old ride and the Dire Avengers move to secure the Eldar objective. The fire dragon squads on the lower left board board their serpents. The DA squad on the left turbo boosts towards the IG objective.

Turn 4 - Imperial Guard
The running squad of guards manages to take out a vyper prior to running off the board, lucky guard. The Platoon pummels the seer council who manage to lose two warlocks - 1 with destructor, 1 with embolden and spear. The vyper squad is melted to slag with the melta squad of veterans.

Turn 4 - Eldar
The dire avenger serpent and the seer council anihalate the troop squd of heading towards the IG objective. The dire avenger serpent is on the IG objective. The Fire Prism kills 4 from the platoon squad. Rest of the eldar failed to kill and the platoon squad had some amazing saves.

The guard platoon manage to immobilize the fire prism. The top right wave serpent with the squad of fire dragons has the twin linked shuriken cannons destroyed.

Turn 5 - Eldar
Fire Dragons disembark after Eiluj stupidly moves the transport first - preventing charging and destroying the chimera. Platoon had 4 killed prior to being assaulted by the seer council.

Dajobe rolls the dice and the game continues to turn 6
Turn 6 - Imperial Guard
The Melta veteran squad look upon the Fire dragons that just popped their transport with rage and the meltas manage to melt one fire dragon into nothingness (hope the spirit stone is still there somewhere) and the lasguns take two more victums. They then assault the fire dragons winning combat by one, but the fire dragons pass their leadership test and stay in the fight. The plasma gun squad shots at the serpent with the second fire dragon squad, but fails to damage it. The platoon and seer council, sees combat won by the Eldar, but the commisars presence makes the sergeant keep his men from routing.

Turn 6 - Eldar
Wave Serpents and prism cannon destroy the remainder of the plasma veteran squad. Close combat with the fire dragons and melta veteran squad results in no wounds and draw combat. The seer council kills 3 in the platoon squad and the by the skin of his teeth the platoon sergeant keeps his men in line however he sweats as he sees the commisar aim his pistol at him for a split second. The weaponless wave serpent rams the immobilized chimera but fails to destroy it - epic fail.

Dajobe rolls the dice to see if the game continues to turn seven and rolls a one…. The game ends. The Eldar control both objectives, the Imperial Guard control none and are on the verge of destruction.

Epilogue
Eiluj has returned to his meditation room he takes his runes from his hip pouch as well as an object taken from the Imperial guard troops. Rubbing it in one of his hands, he noted that the 582nd patch was rough and crude material compared to the artesians on his craft world could do. He reflected how he had once been what humans would call a taylor, but that had been almost a life time ago to him. He then thought back to the battle he had just faced on Seay’leane. His craft world had wiped the blight of the Imperium clean from the world and with minimal causualties. This was a good day for his craft world and the Eldar. Eiluj’s last thought before entering a deep meditation was, perhaps in a couple hundred years the maiden world of Seay’leane would be healed from the Imperium’s touch and could be colonized.

I had done the whole report with the pictures in Microsoft word and pasted it in. The pictures did not transfer. How do you get them with your text?

Well, first you need to go to the Gallery and go to "Upload your Wargaming Images" on the right of the top bar. Follow the instructions (it's pretty easy) to move the pics into your gallery. Once the pics are in, open the folder in your gallery. Then open another window on your batrep, and edit your original post (click on edit).
Click on an image in your gallery andwhen it loads, look below and on the right where you'll see a series of text boxes containing script. you want "Forums"... highlight and copy the whole box and just put it in your battle report wherever you want the picture to appear.

Dajobe manages to immobilize the top right wave serpent - making the anxious Fire Dragons inside unable to join the rest of the gang.

Sounds like a good battle. 2500 points is a lot on the table at one time. Don't think I could manage that and play with any expediency... too much to keep track of. Don't sweat the small stuff dajobe, you'll get the hang of it. Those pesky xenos are a tricksy lot... always sneakin' about in their swoopy vehicles. I doubt I'll fare much better. (watch Gits as he pods into the middle of 3 squads of Fire Dragons!) Zzzzzzorch!

The Game was a lot of fun. Dajobe was cool to play a game with. Both of us were pretty easy going and rooted for the other. Sure everyone likes to win, but the people you play with and the style and class that they play the game with can make all the difference between a fun game and stressful game. We both had some unlucky rolls, but I think poor Dajobe got the worst of it. Playing the game again. I think it could have gone the other way.

Ive got a new list that im gonna try, i dropped the holy motor and HK's and added 2 techpriests and a psyker battle squad, prob start 1 tech in reserve for when the first one gets pwned, but i figure they may be able to help out with my vehicles and they have some strong CC weapons. Also the psyker squad just rocks. Im playing thursday, so ill let you all know how it goes. Also, i really like these bat reps, they help me remember the games.
