All I have been able to find are great or horrible reviews for this game.
So instead of rushing to buy it, I waited and rented it. And I liked it.

I am definitely glad I rented it though as the game became very repetitive, I don't have wireless working on my box right now so I haven't tried multiplayer, but I see that being a let down based on the campaign play.

Speaking of campaign...I finished it already...5 hours of gameplay and I am done? Seriously?

All in all, cool game, not worth the New Full Price, maybe if it came with some figs (aka the 5 main people in the game, as well as the Ork Warboss and Chaos Lord (I didn't really pay attention to their names it was over so quickly)

Yeah, its decent.

Same old story. Forum nerds are weird and get emotional about their hobby.

Its not OMG AMAZING1111 and its not weird dakka GW hater "OMG WTF?111" either.

Its pretty fething good. Buy it if you spend money on decent video games.

We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.

It's like Halo in the sense that there is so much epic to be had, but the single player is such a let down in the fact that it is so short. :(

After Reaching level 9 with my friends copy, I have to say It's VERY well balanced, you never see one particular class dominating, it's an even spread.

I liked the campain, though that gaurdsman was right
"Deployed to a forgeworld and not a techpriest in sght"
wierd, unless that's discussed in the audio logs.

I wouldn't mind Lt. Mira and a Boss Grimskull models, they're pretty cool.and it would make GW even more money!

Loved it too, but i agree that combat gets repetitive. There's not much innovation going on their. Would have been more fun and interesting if battle objectives were more unique.
Having a blast with multiplayer. Anticipating a fun Exterminatus mode.

I liked it, but it's got pretty limited replay value and very limited multi variety. I suppose that might change over time, for the latter anyway. For now, though, I'd recommend it to anyone who likes the 40k lore and also shooters, and anyone else, I'd tell to pass on it; certainly at the retail new release price point.

I reallly enjoyed it and really it wasn't any shorter than most games these days.

CoD
Kane And Lynch 2
Medal of Honor (The new one)
Darksiders
Killzone 3
Hell even God of War three

All great and fun games but in their own ways just like space marine were short and repetitive. Killzone was a five hour game for me yet everybody loves it yet space marine which i thought was up there with it keeps getting put down.

I am a huge fan of God of War yet it can be very repetitive especially after three games.
Still i find it to be a really enjoyable game.
Space marine is no different. Its very exciting in places and the boss battles were fun and not too overpowered and the look and feel was just right.

I have to say it was one of the better games i have played lately. It could be better though like most games and perhaps a Space Marine 2 will have more of the things we are hoping it will.

Kane and Lynch 2 is a horrible example to use.

I borrowed Space Marine from a friend. I got up to the Ork Warboss, I watched him kill me instantly twice in a row, I quit the game, took out the DVD or Blu-Ray or whatever it's on, put in Prototype and I've been playing that ever since.

Space Marine was repetitive, the Orks were lousy, the environments were always the same (Prototype is no spring chicken here either, but at least its fun), and the game play could not hold my interest.

I thought it was okay - it's pretty much what I expected it to be, although I didn't manage to play multi-player. I wasn't expecting it to be the 'classic' 40k action game many are hoping for - but it's a step in that direction. It wasn't bad, it was good fun and I thought the Orks were mildly amusing - I just don't see it having that long lasting appeal - even with multi-player. It has given me the opportunity to write rules for the Vengeance Launcher in 2nd Ed though

The campaign is quite boring on normal, but proper on Hard. I'm sorry if you played through all the way on normal, but that's obviously why it was so fast... because normal is so easy.

The multiplayer is much more fun gameplay wise than the single player.

Hahaha, you rage quit fighting the Warboss? Yeah, I straight up don't believe that you played all the way up to the warboss (on hard obviously, normal is a snorefest walk in the park), died twice and ragequit? That is too dumb of a story for me to think is real. Sorry. Calling bs.

Also prototype is straight up awful. If you wanted to play a generic middle of the road totally-not-Infamous game, why not play one that is actually good?

I didn't rage quit. Rage quit would be what I did playing Uncharted a few times. I just got tired of playing. I wasn't being all that entertained, the story wasn't all that interesting, and I just gave up (as opposed to rage quit).

And I'm enjoying Prototype. inFamous is better, and Just Cause 2 is more fun, but all three are better than the run-of-the-mill Space Marine. As I've said before, Space Marine isn't bad, it's just not very good either.

So the short of it is: decent game, not necessarily worth paying new shiny bling price for, but definitely something to pick up when the price inevitably drops in a few months?

I'm an average gamer, so the game on normal mode took me around 8 - 9 hours. I really liked the game play, love the scenery (as I'm a 3d geek/nerd). Tried the multiplay mode, and couldn't get on with it when it came to jumping in with a jump pack. Found it very disorienting.

Have traded it in, via a deal at Game, for GoW3. Having fun with that at the moment

I honestly thought it was well worth my money. The campaign took me about 7-8 hours to complete and enjoyed every minute of it. I'm excited for the free co-op patch/expansion coming in october.

Worth the money in my opinion. If your a 40k fan you'll definately like it. I am enjoying the multiplayer and a free co-op mode is being released in the not too distant future.

I thought it was a pretty solid game. I am not a huge fan of shooters, however this one was pretty good.

I'm not going to lie though, the 40k story line helped to bolster it. I will also say that it got a bit repetitive by the end. I found myself wishing it was over about an hour sooner.

My one annoyance was that all the boss fights except the last were pretty meh. Just not very fun and I wish they would have put some creative stuff into them.

Gameplay wise. I wasnt particularly impressed with the demo. The combat desperatly needs a heavy/light system, i appreciate what they were trying with the stun attack but i dont feel it is necessary. I dont like constantly tapping ex,ex,ex,ex,ex,ex,ex; It feels skill-less. GoW at least had square, square, triangle. Besides the copious gore the combat also lacked a bit of impact, there's not that satisfying 'thunk' on connection with enemies.

The story looked good and the voice acting seemed above average. The main character is voiced by the legend that is Mark Strong The jump pack was good, much weightier than Reach's puny effort. Also the chainsword is the coolest sounding thing ever.

So all in all a mixed bag but generally unfavourable.

EDIT
Wait, same length as darksiders?! Not true, darksiders is easily 12 hours, i think more.

I'm enjoying it but I'll agree with others and say the single player is dragging at bit.
Was on chapter 12 when I started playing last night hoping that was the last one, turned it off at the start of chapter 15. Hopefully I'll get it finished tonight meaning I can get back onto the multiplayer which I'm enjoying immensely despite not really being a multiplayer gamer.

The campaign was fun, but for me it got kinda stale.. I guess it needed more variety for me, and a longer campaign too.

Now that I can finally get into the multiplayer, it's fun but not "OMG I GOTTA PLAY" fun. I think it just needs more maps and game modes. I think I had more fun playing with the customizer...

To be perfectly honest it was like someone took Gears of War and tried to make it a Space Marine game and failed.

The system was repetitive to the nth degree with the combos being an outright boring series of button pushes. The mechanic for gaining health was cool in principle; however, when you're executing a Nob and right as the health starts to regenerate you die, you get frustrated...when it happens half a dozen times...you take the game out and play something else. Granted, going into Space Marine, I wasn't expecting mind blowing graphics or depth defying storyline, but I was expecting something other than: "kill some more orks, find something else, kill another 100 orks, go somewhere else, kill another 100 orks and oh yeah, shoot down an ork ship with a Plasma Cannon".

I bought it and after beating in the same day quickly returned it for store credit so I could go ahead and pre-order Battlefield 3.

i realy like it. It has a nice flowing game play the only thing i found a bit disappointing was that the titan was too small.

as far as it being short campaign gone are the days of fps games having stories that could take weeks to finish.

Sorry but you really must suck. I beat the game on hard and rarely ever died right before I finished an execution

Anyways I loved it, Campaign was a little short and the last boss fight was a little disappointing, but I didn't find it repetitive because its so damn fun, and not to mention their is a lot of variety in how you kill your enemies. Multiplayer is really fun but i just wish they would release some DLC map packs, And Exterminatus looks like its gonna be so crazy fun.
