I'm trying to see if I can make an MSU/Mech not quite Deathwing/Ravenwing list for Dark Angels and make it work. Scoring Terminators are good, so I'm going to start with those.

Belial - 130
Librarian in Terminator Armor - 125

This is 1995 total. Thoughts? The LD9 Psychic Hood is kinda annoying, but that's what Dark Angels are stuck with. I may change the Librarian to Ezekiel, or just drop him all together for another unit or predator.

I like it for a basic DA's army none DW/RW.

I think you should drop Libby for another Pred. I don't like our Libby's at all. I think you will get more help from the Pred. You could upgrade the one squad of terminators to have the banner at least. It comes in pretty handy from time to time.

I also like Las/plas for my Backs. Thats just a personal thing though.

I was debating dropping the libby for another pred, because he is pretty worthless in this setup, and I play Chaos most of the time, so I am used to the lack of psychic defense. The other idea for this army was to run as Black Templars with Tank Hunting Cyclones, but I think the Deathwing scoring is better. I've also been trying to find points for the Apothecary Upgrade as well for the Deathwing dudes.

And I don't think Dark Angels have the option for Las/Plas razorbacks.

Yea, it's unfortunate, but I guess they forgot how to attach Plasma to a turret.

Well hopefully in a new Dex. Whenever that may be..lol I honestly just use the C:SM for a regular DA marine army. As you have mixed DW/RW and Marines the DA Dex is the one. But I do Like the list.

Looking through your list. Your points are off. The Tac squads are only 265pts. the way you have them. The libby is 145pts.

I'm sticking with the DA because I think the scoring terminators are going to prove rock solid.

Oh yeah I understand and agree. I use the Marine dex for just marines. I don't add terminators or bikes at all, just simple marines. When I want to play with bikes and Terminators thats when I pull out the DA dex.

What I don't understand is why you want all TH/SS instead of leaving on the Storm Bolters for some/most in the unit?

Also, I'm not sure I like the idea of trading a Hood for Vehicle, around my area at least that Hood does a lot of work.

I can see the tactical squads working well objective wise because then you have some guys that you can just sit on an objective instead of a bunch of terminators that want to get into CC.

I'm not sure about the librarian switch only thing I can think that could ruin you is Null Zone but if you know it is on the table blow him up quick or your gonna start wondering why you keep failing 3+ invul saves. :(

The problem is he is spending 145 pts on the hood only. His powers lack alot and he really isn't that great of a fighter. Ld9 to boot. Not a very good investment for 145 pts.

But around where I am no one really uses a libby except for one GK's player. So I don't have much experience with dealing with other psychers.

If he had better powers then I would say go for it.

The ld9 hood is a big problem that's for sure, but having a crack at stopping some psychic shenanigans seems worth it. On the other hand, I play chaos (who has no psychic defense) with no problems, so it's probably not a big deal. I've also thought about using Ezekiel.

Or....I could find a way to fit an LRC in and make a "Belial+bodyguard" deathstar with a Chaplain. The banner (+1 attack), apothecary (FNP) and re-rolls from the chappy would make a nasty counter charge unit.
