Beastmasters are best used in Webway portal lists. They are extremely fragile and the ability to come on the board in the middle of the enemy is exremely effective. Stay away from Clawed Fiends, My set up is two with Khymeras and two with Razorwing Flocks.

Quoted from "The Defenestrator":
"Yes, I don't buy into the goody goody image the Tau PR machine has churned out . They're all dirty cold-blooded space-communists if you ask me! Besides, their shiny, selfless "we love everyone for the Greater Good" vibe is so unfitting for the "lulz we're all badass jerks" future of 40k. GW needs to play up their cold, calculating, "join us or die, and probably still die anyway" Borg-y style. That's just me of course."
Altanis wrote Vindicare. Hes like Santa he watches when your sleeping. He knows when your awake. I doesn't matter if youve been bad or good because the inquisition put a hit out on you and a shield breaker round is gonna go through your head when your eating your weaties.

Theyr're actually pretty durable so long as the razorwings don't get ID'ed. A unit with 3 beastmasters, 5 khymerae and 4 razorwings has 28 wounds with invulns sprinkled in on the kymerae, your also pumping out 24 S3 rending attacks (so fairly effective against vehicles), 9 egular S3 attacks and 20 S4 ones so you can foce alot of saves. The whole unit above comes to 156 points so they're pretty damn cheap.

Dark Eldar: 3k
Space Wolves : 1k
Orks: 2.5k
Necrons: Vassal
Fafnir on the topic of marbo "All I know is that when he manages to kill 500 points on his own in one game, I get a rush that is not unlike that of injecting heroin directly into the folds of my scrotum." |

+1. I have had to deal with that unit with IG and SW, and both have issues beating them up. It is the most resilient unit in that book. Ld 8 is its only drawback.

I'd say it's probably the most durable unit in the book that is also competitively viable. "Worth it" is an awfully large catch all term though. I think they're 'competitive' which is a more clear mark of respect in my mind.
