Venom spam or sw razor spam?

So as be hold I am a noob. But have read allot of great things and have allot of great feedback and also a gw 2 minutes away. But know I have decided between 2 armies I Wana play.
1. Dark eldar venom spam seems awesome ! Def could wipe squadrons out in a blink of a eye. But I fly in paper airplanes . :( but also venoms rip and should I fly them solo? And can it work for a 1750 list?
2.Sw razor spam. First of were am
I gonna get 12 Ml? I like how solid they are and people tell me they will be easier to learn? So by next week I will have a army I just need to CC please thank you.

You might wanna check bitz stores online to get the missile launchers you will need for fang spam.

I've run the SW razorspam list a time or two, it is quite resilient to damage, seeing how nearly everything in the list is duplicated several times over.

I can't give too much advice on the venom spam however, I've never played DE. I have went against such a list a few times and they are quite nasty.

As a Dark Eldar player (who loves venoms) I'd reccomend the DE

. While you're flying in cardboard, you have manauverability, range and spam - plus the 5+invun and nightshields give some survivability. Also - loading them with blasters makes them effective tankhunters too.

The ability to put out one to two hundred poison shots, 9-12 lance shots and what.. 10+ blaster shots every turn will send a lot of pain downrange.

I like 5-6 venoms with 2-3 ravagers / razorwings with maybe 1-3 raiders in a kabalite list.

I also like Space Wolves, and have seen the spammy list do HORRIBLE things, but if I was to run them myself, I'd just buy a whole load of battleforces and drop pods.. cos 6-12 pods amuses me.

I would not recommend DE to a new player over SW razorspam. SW razorspam would be much easier to learn to use and have more tolerence for mistakes.

Yeah as much as I love the DE. I started with them and got waxed alot...granted this was in 3rd but my point is that it was disheartening. And I mean waxed for a long time. Tactics with DE are critical. As much as I don't want to see another SM let alone SW player it would be eaiser. DE are more flexible in that the squad inside can be AT while the venom is anti-infantry, but yeah paper airplanes. It can work for 1750, I normally play 1850 and do fairly well.

Problem with SW is that it is another marine so that will get alot of grumblings. Also ML are mostly available through bitz stores and even then only if they are in stock. You could find someone getting out of the game or with extra ML.

"Have you got anything without Razorbacks in it?"
"Well, Venoms, Trueborn and Venoms..."

Naw, just kidding. Buy what you think is fun and cool, I wouldn't advice being too concerned about competiveness at first. A "spam" list might be bit of a handful in the beginning (and somewhat boring to assemble & paint), even in a "forgiving" army.

Space wolves are definetly more mistake-forgivable than DEs, which is pretty important for new players. In the hands of a skiilled player, SW is pretty favorable in most match ups.

DE are cooler than Space Wolves though - they have spikes, and thongs, and spiked thongs.

Personally - I'd say look at the two armies and decide which one you like better for the idea of fluff and painting, because both are competitive, and the learning curve is no reason to be scared of DE. Besides, once you start winning with them you get to sneer at everyone else and act superior for playing the 'harder' army...not that I do that...constantly...

Well I went with DE! Just ordered my venoms my reason is that after reading the codex I love the story behind them. I mean let's shoot them with poisonous splinters and let them suffer! Also no one at the.store plays them or has played against them. So might be fun to to spread the suffering and attach them and drag there lifeless body and light up nids! Also the models are beautiful! Plus the paint scheme I have in mind with bright blues and shades of pink might for well. And the losing part does not bother me let's face it I am a newbie I would love at first either way. How do you guys feel about running 3 x5 scourges? Or should I web way beast?

Good choice OP. I believe you should always play an army that you like because of who they are and not because they will get you the best results immediately. I've played Grey Knights for years when they were overpriced and under powered and I got smashed more times then I care to remember, but I kept playing and still loved my army and the game. I see the other side of the spectrum who switch to the newest codex every time it drops or to the newest "Fad army" and when they lose they curse and scream and threaten to quit playing (if only they actually would) and it becomes a downer for the rest of us. However, as I said you sound like you'll be a solid player and congratulations on your choice. Good gaming!
