I am assuming the yellow mustard color is the bronze color that you are talking about?

If so I think bronze GK's would look great. I think you could really achieve the effect nicely by first painting mithril, then using sepia and devlan mud washes, and little black to to achieve the look.

Something like this;

Would look fantastic on a GK.

Bronze is really hard to do well as it's a different color from each and every angle from almost black to shiny almost golden. I would add multiple thin washes in various browns and browny blacks as it should give you model more depth also a gloss medium in your glaze wouldn't hurt as bronze is a shiny metal. but that's just ideas off the top of my head and painting a grey knight bronze is completely different to painting a 1:250 scale achitectural model bronze, although we did that by utilising an alsmost mirror finish silver then many many layers of glaze which was a dark brown but applied so thinly you could barely see the difference between coats, infact it took three coats before there was a clear difference in before and after however once it was finished the color was spot on and depending on the angle you were viewing the piece you looked through a different amount of glaze and the color changed.

I used tin bitz base, dwarf bronze dybrush, then hawk turquoise/snot green wash, and shining gold wash again, as someone mentioned it, here on dakka.

In artificial light it not look as good as in natural + i've taken the shot with phone.

I dont know if it was purposeful or not, but i love the blue highlight over the armor. Gives it an iron rust effect.
Awesome idea though, and it looks fantastic.

you need to do something to define the lettering in the shoulder and throughout the armor better, right now it looks a bit blotchy. I wold suggest badab black, and add several layer until the recesses are nice and dark. The other thing I would do is mix up some turquoise paint, and use that in the deep recesses and joints in the armor, that will sell the bronze effect.

A good quick tutorial to painting bronze.

A little bit of cleaning up of the mould lines before you start painting would go a really long way.

Hello! Welcome to dakka!

You should wash the paper with brown ink.
I think that the blue eyes are too bright, it looks strange. I think you should wash it with a dark blue ink and add a white dot or two to make it look like the leses are reflecting light.

You should also wash the blue lettering down with something. The first guy at the top has it done really nicely where its not too bright, and i like that effect.

I like any paint scheme other then the standard silver/greyy is a win in my book . Might wanna hit the layed texted areas with a wash make them easier to read imho.

The bronze armor looks really good. The only fault I can find with them are some mold-lines (Nemesis Force Weapon and Dreadnought engine), and maybe a lack of definition in some areas. But a black or brown wash should do the trick there.

Other than that, great work!

Yep, the mold lines was a huge mistake, next time i'll be more cautious about that.

Yesterday I washed every model with black, and they looks way better now, thanks for the advice

@Redfinger

I dont want that very heavy tarnish, just a very bit, but thats a great tutorial, and thanks for it.

I think i should wear magnifying glasses, 'coz sometimes i just didn't spot the flaws...

Some new pic... It's started good, but at the end I somehow messed up the whole thing with the black wash.

Next time i'll use some brownish color.
