Hey guys here's my finished Belial model for my DA army. I know the pics aren't the greatest but they're not awful at least.

Here's my unfinished Deathwing Stormraven

Let me know what you guys think and cheers!

Belial seems pretty cool. Is that the actual model? Because I've never seen a belial model before.

Nope they've not made one that I know of, at least recently anyway. We're left to come up with our own.

The weathering on the stormraven looks really nice. Thanks for sharing.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Very nice Belial, and great paintjobs all round.

Is Belials hood sculpted or is that a standard DA head?

E-GAD! It's so smooth!

Great job, love the Belial.

It's a head from the ravenwing battleforce lol. The veterans come with unhelmeted/hooded heads as well but the way this hood hangs so far in front of the face is just so Belialesque.

Neatly painted with good color coordination.

But, I have always found it incongruous to have guys in heaviest armor put on cloth hoods as well. There are only two reasons for warriors to go into battle in heavy armor but without a helmet:

1) Improved visibility at the expense of lower protection. A hood almost completely surrenders the advantage and keeps the disadvantage.
2) Easier time recognizing the warrior. This was solved in the Middle Ages by colorful heraldry, and besides the hood defeats that purpose as well.

All in all, cloth hoods make no sense for models in power armor, let alone terminator armor. Sorry, Dark Angels.

And yet he's walking around in a giant bulky unwieldy set of armor 40,000 years in the future, where daemons exist and trillions of fanatical humans pray to the skeleton of a man who was created by the sacrifice of thousands of shamans. You really spent the time to complain about a piece of cloth? Go pound sand.

Ten-foot-tall genetically modified superhumans with power armor plugged into their bodies are hurling themselves in spaceships through an alternate dimension, and you're quibbling about them wearing hoods (when some of them USE that alternate dimension to fuel their woogy psychic powers)? Before we get into an argument about it, I'll laugh and move on.

I think it looks really neat. I'm waiting to see what you do with that awesome-looking storm shield. Where'd you get that? (It almost looks like a modified side door for a Rhino...)

The armor is primed grey, basecoated in game color earth, then game color khaki, then game color bonewhite, and finally game color earth blended in for shadowing.

As far as the storm shield goes it's done. It has a petina wash like all the other gold I do on my deathwing that I was inspired to do by Raff on here. After that I re-highlighted it with burnished gold but truth be told the light I used doesn't really bring the final sheen out. Both the storm shield and thunderhammer are made by maxmini under the name "mechanical hammer and shield" lol.
