I was wondering what would be the best way to go about doing this conversion. I know that GW produces a model with a kustom forcefield but i was wondering how to get a power klaw on there. Would the one from the box of boys work? Or is the nobs arm too big? and also will the boss pole fit on the back easily?

Or you just pretend the big wrench the Big Mek is holding is a Power Klaw...

I reckon the Nob arm would be a suitable scale, but as there's no specific uniform look for a KFF, you could start with a PK Nob and scratch build something that looks suitable to act as the KFF. As for a Bosspole, remember the Codex states that is doesn't have to be an actual pole - some suitably impressive-looking piece of armour can count as it. That said, I'm sure it wouldn't take much work to attach a pole to the KFF Big Mek's backpack.

Driven away from WH40K by rules bloat and the expense of keeping up, now interested in smaller model count games and anything with nifty mechanics.

Here's how I did it. I just replaced the arm with the standard PK arm & covered up the seam with a shoulder pad. I also painted his normal arm up and magnetized both so I can equip him as needed.

Yeah, every KFF would be unique, you just need bits that look vaguely like some sort of field generator backpack - e.g. I've seen the Battle Macragge pylons used to make a great KFF.
