What range of colors do they have? Do you happen to know the medium they are suspended in?

That's what I used for mixing my custom washes, based on Les' recipe. You can get them in lots of colors and they work great.

As always, enjoy and have fun!

I use the Daler-Rowney as well and dickblick.com is where I get them too. They are reletively cheap when you get them there as well. I have even been known to paint with just the inks every so often. So not make the mistake I made though. You do not need the 6oz bottles. Get the 1oz, they are more than enough!!!

I use Liquitex inks which are an acrylic suspension, some Daler Rowneys also acrylic. I have tried walnut ink, dr martins Bombay inks, and higgins pen ink. Limited success with them.
The Liquitex inks are VERY strongly pigmented, good interesting colors. The DR-FW inks have a somewhat broader range of colors and are a little weaker but that's good in washes.

Which are all based on Les' recipes if memory serves. The newest ones added are not his recipes though.

P3 makes inks that remind me of the old GW ones, the only one they don't make is Flesh Wash.

I believe Vallejo makes inks as well, but they call them washes (though I don't think they're the same consistency of the current GW washed)
