Just wondering how many people have considered selling their warhammer collection...
Say everything went well, you fetched a fair price etc etc.

What will you spend on instead?

Hmm, a "fair price" for a 3500+ point ork army would probably be around $1000-$1500 (cant charge as much as GW can) so i would probably spend it on a micro-vacation with my wife.

There are a lot of really nice sculpts by smaller studios that would be worth getting

If i sold all my stuff for 50% mrsp i could probably buy a decent car, or put a hefty downpayment on a house...

Honestly, although I could probably fetch a fair price for most of my stuff, the Truescale Marines would never sell. Too expensive no matter how you put it. Considering the parts and time that actually went in them, I'd put them at at least $800 (roughly $500 just for the parts, and another $300 for the work that went into converting them), but no one would buy 16 models for that price.

But with that in mind, I could probably buy a car with all my 40k stuff. Not a great car, but a decent one. Granted, I already have a fairly decent car... so I'm not sure what. Probably just save it for booze.

Even my bitz cans? That's a sadistic choice. Well, if I did that, I'd use the money to fix whatever disaster caused me to quit, and toss the leftovers in a CD or something.

If I did I'd probably get out of the hobby for good and sell absolutely everything. This is hypothetical though, since the idea of selling an army, let alone my entire collection, is one I find appalling.

I'd pay my rent for the next 6 months probably. Gotta be practical for the time being.

I would definitely use the money to buy a house of my own, that's for sure.... and then get back in wargaming with something less than the 20.000 + points I have.

Since I only have about 1.5K Skaven right now I could probably maybe get a maximum of 200€ for it, since everything is assembled and painted already.

I would probably use it to buy some effects for my bass

I actually did sell almost all of my considerable bits horde a few years back. I sold it in 3 bulk loads, going for the quick and easy sale rather than maximum return and raised enough to buy all the components to build a new gaming PC.

I did back in 2003. Started playing WARMACHINE way back then and haven't looked back our regretted out since.

I sold off all my fantasy stuff to finish college. It was a large empire foot list and after paying for may last few classes ... invested in 40k.

Already did that when 3rd ed 40k was announced and we saw the ruleset for it. Can't remember where the cash went at the time, but would have been something that was needed.
If I did it now, probably a location move and car.

If I sold all my stuff I'd probably be buying survival gear because I'd be stocking up for the apocalypse.

Then maybe we should sell our stuff Bat, I always wanted to have zombie minions, I could put my proceeds to making some and bringing about the zombie apocalypse

Thought about it a couple of times, obviously depends how much is in your collection so its a pretty open ended question.
I'm glad I havent as I find myself pulled back into the 40k world on a reasonably regular basis.

Here's hoping they don't screw up Necrons and then we have to wait 6 months for an FAQ...that really turned me off with the ruling issues from the Tyranid codex and no rush at all for GW to correct the rulings.

I dunno I have a necron army, tonnes of nids and some marine bitz I want to sell. It's hard to even get 50% of it. Anything less and it's worth keeping.

Go back to playing rugby. Its the only sport you can be a hooker and not be looked down on

I've seen a few Rugger Clubs for the 30+. Only problem is that you have to either drive 2-3 hours for a game or play the local university (which means against the 18 - 20 year old "HS American Football" kids who don't know how to properly make a rugby tack and will lead with their shoulders which usually result in more injuries on both parties).

It would be that or I would end up doing more family stuff. Right now I only game once a month. Its family first. That keeps a happy wife
