Playing two campaign games against a Chaos Mortals friend today. One game will be 1500 on 1500. The other will be 1500(me) on 1500 and a Lord character who can be maxed out. I encouraged him to metagame for these fights, because I was totally going to be doing it.

Here is what I'm toying with. For the first game. Strong magic against the army, and small but hard hitting combat blocks. I don't have to worry about shooting since it's Mortals, so I don't need to giant amount of numbers on my special units.

For the game against the Lord. I get the feeling he'll try to bring some magic to this fight. So I'll be bringing a lvl 1 to try to pump out Drain Magic every turn. Otherwise I'm going to castle up in a corner and shoot/magic the hell out of him as he comes to me.

So what's the plan when he shows up with mass Marauders?

I think you have tailored your list to the heavy armoured units way too much and have almost no way of dealing with a large amount of Marauders.

Well, like I said I meta'd. He doesn't have Mass maruaders. He has one that he always brings as khorne. Hence the great eagle.

I love wreck HE players day with pandaemonium oh look you got it off IF well you also miscast yay fun magic phase

Marauder hordes would wreck you tho.
Lore of shadow would work well especially mind razor.

Bolt throwers are 100 points not worth it they don't make their points back all too well.

Pheonix guard are good times tho ward saves why not.

Right..... so you are fully tailoring your lists because you know what he has/is going to field? Thats awfully nice of you /sarcasm

I also cant wait till he turns up with a HC and it wrecks face... or if he proxies Marauders and brings a 50-strong bus with MoK and Flails/GW...

I'd ditch lions they aren't very ideal against chaos, swordmasters w razor banner however makes them cry

Bolt throated are over rated, beef up you elite units size!!!! They will cream chaos but when they hit you back you'll remember how glass cannon your army really is, I like swordmasters in 7x3 (21) lots of attacks n enoug numbers to finish enemies of in round 2 of combat

Drop rhe archers n put your points into more spearmen, ESPECIALLY if your fighting chaos. S3 bows are not going to hurt T4 3+ as chaos warriors......

I would dropbook of hoeth for tali of saphery and floriath robes, BoH is nice but your a. Level four wizard give him a silver wand and make sure there's a banner of sorcery n you don't need BoH

Ps your an elf, if your in a game more than 1k get a or trust me you'll be crying for rerolls when all your spearmen ditch or your swordmaster lose combat by one

I'd stick your archmage in te spearmen unit and give them banner of discipline for a nice ld 10 bubble

Those are some basic points I figured I'd point out.

Oh the hc good times.
Still having a tailored list won't gain you much skill and if you lose you look quite bad.

Also the mok guys can restrain from charging the bird and if they catch him he dead and the guys will still be angry that and the birdie dosnt stand a chance against the hc.
But ya thems be my opinions.

Hopefully he doesn't put the blinders on... it would stink if he stuck the Khorne unit in the direct center of his army, your eagle flying away would have get pretty close to other units of yours. Hopefully this doesn't cause you to panic.

The best way to defeat WoC is to shoot them up on their way to you and then use your elite units to beat them in HtH. The sword masters will excel at this because of their high S attacks. Be prepared because you will take casualties if he makes it to you with enough warriors. The HE have a glass jaw so they need to watch what they fight and when they fight it. It has to be on their terms, not the enemy's.

If you can hit warriors in the flank with SM the unit will drop almost instantaneously

Lore of metal, high or shadow are going to be your best bet
