Subject: The Brawl in the Fall! Fresno, CA October 22nd 40K RTT
Hey everyone, these are some Dakkanauts who are hosting a tournament in the Central Valley. The Zero Comp team is heading out to play in it and I just wanted to make sure everyone knew about it.
Hope to see some of you fellas there!

The Brawl in the Fall
Check it out. Its going to be awesome. Very friendly players, good venue, very cheap entry fee. Some tough competition and good prize support.
Consider this the official announcement for the next installment of the Brawl in the Fall, the biggest Warhammer 40K tournament to hit the valley!
We're still working out the messy details, but I wanted to get the word out so you can plan accordingly. Here's what I can tell you thus far:
Last year we nearly sold out at 30 player slots. There will be room for 30 players again this year.
It will be a one-day, 3 round tournament
It will be held at the Clovis Veterans Memorial Building (the same venue as last year).
Tickets will be $25 for advance purchases, and $30 at the door.
The date is already set for Saturday, October 22nd.
It will most likely be an 1850 point tournament.
The tournament scoring will remain basically the same as far as points earned for wins/losses/ties.
One major change is that the points for best painted will be separated from the overall tournament score. Players still will be rewarded within the structure of the tournament itself for having painted armies, but it will be a much simpler scale. That's something that's still being worked out, which is one of the reasons that I haven't posted the revised rules yet.
We will have awards for Best Overall, Best General, Best Sportsman, and Best Painted, and may include others as well.
We're also looking into a variety of other goodness to go along with this year's tournament.
Anyway, that's about all I can tell you for now. I will try to have the rules hammered out within the next week or so for your perusal. Once the rules are posted, we'll open registration as well.
Thanks, and I look forward to seeing everyone there!
Compliments to Mark the TO

My name's Mark and I'm one of the TO's for Brawl in the Fall II. If you have any questions about the rules, etc., either post them here or PM me. We are about half full with prepays already, so if you want to reserve your spot, it'd be best to register sooner instead of later. I'll post the specifics later, but I can tell you that the Best Overall award will receive approximately 1500 points worth of Grey Knights, and Best General will receive about 1000 points of Dark Eldar.
Players registered for the tournament (up to 30) will receive a package including some sample bases and a discount coupon from Secret Weapon Miniatures, tournament dice, tape measure, and a tournament t-shirt with the official Brawl in the Fall logo!
We are looking to make this the premiere gaming event in the Central Valley!
Thanks,
Mark

I went to Fresno State, and cut my 40k teeth in the central valley. It's great to see the hobby thriving, I know a couple friends who have put the game on pause down there because they thought the scene had died, ill let them know about this.

This tournament was definitely worth the drive....friendly people and some cool raffle prizes, like some very cool armies were there like the Death Company Dreadnoughts theme, a nicely painted Black Templar Army, Tyranids drop pod, now if only my dice would stop stop rolling a record of 1s every game....
Chaos daemons 1850
Chaos Marines 1850
2250+
2500++ (Wraithwing)
I moved so starting from scratch. These were the armies I had, rebuilding my Chaos.
