I think its a pretty cool add-on considering that a lot of the armies are mechanized now-a-days. I plan on trying it out tomorrow. It lets you have specialized units but at a cost and I also like the way you deploy. Considering its a free release and there is no new models I give gamesworkshop an A+.

You should look at the pdf. If your just going to say I haven't played it and put a null vote whats the point of posting?

Ummm...somewhere...

I for one have quite enjoyed spearhead...for the first couple of months is was out anyway like most GW expansions IMHO it just kind of drops interest and back to normal 40k games we go definitely had some good memories though (anyone else vs a baneblade in 2000 points?), adding in fun rules was a good idea, and I did like the deployment types it all kinda makes me wish GW would do (by the looks of it they may be in the future) these small WD expansions, it doesn't matter if people play them, but it's just nice theres an option if you want to spice up you gaming life

~Dark Eldar- Pirates of the Crystal Moon - 2400 points 38/15/4
~Pre-heresy Luna Wolves- WIP! (Probably gonna be a while)
~Recently sold sisters, GW ruined them for me their burning of xeno's will be remembered! (Friend bought them back for me, making them work, statement so far half stands after a lesson learnt)
~ SKAVEN - 1000 points and growing, just have assassinate a few warlords to get my way...need more cheese...

I played a 2k with 1 spearhead per player. Saw Tank Hunters being used and used Mechanised Assault on 2 Razors and a LR. I did pretty well with the Faux fast rule granted by the spearhead.

I think it might get less play because being a free expansion there's less desire to 'get your money's worth' than if you've spent nigh on £100 on Apocalypse publications.

I think it's alright. Not the best thing ever, not the worst thing ever either.

If anything, it offers a new way to play the game if you have a lot of vehicles or mechanized infantry around, so for tread-heads might be an interesting diversion from regular 40K or Apocalypse.

Useless to me, as I play footsloggers, but it really doesn't seem too bad.

Even with footsloggers, I'd be up for playing some games in it if any of my gaming friends were agreeable ... sigh.
