Hi everyone. Long time lurker, first time poster.
Quick question about Grey Knight Combat Squads.
It is my understanding that you can deploy 10 Purifiers as two seperate Combat Squads. The Combat Squad rules specifically state that they are seperate units for all game purposes. My question now is: can you give each unit its own transport (e.g. Rhino)? Could you deploy an empty Rhino which would be boarded by the second Squad?
Little confused here. Any help would be very much appreciated

The unit you buy is the 10 man squad. You then purchase a rhino or another transport when making the list. During deployment, IE after you have made your list you may combat squad, thus having 2 units of 5 purifiers and a transport.

You can buy one DT per unit in your FOC. So if you buy a 10 man squad - even if you intend to combat squad them - you can get one Rhino.
If you have an empty Rhino, then yes - the second purifier squad could board it after deployment.

But you can't deploy an empty Rhino, right? Or am i wrong here? Or is there another way to incorporate an empty vehicle?

If you purchase a Rhino with a squad, there's no requirement that the squad must be deployed in the Rhino. So yes, you can deploy an empty Rhino.

BUT... I need two Rhinos... ^.^
I want to deploy 10 Purifiers. They will split into two Combat Squads. I CAN give them a Dedicated Transport (e.g. Rhino). I NEED two Rhinos. Does the rules allow a SECOND Rhino to be deployed empty? Or is there any other way to get a Transport for the second Combat Squad?

You may only take 1 Dedicated rhino per squad, as you don't combat squad til deployment

You have to "steal" a Rhino from another squad that purchased it as a DT. The DT rule (as far as who can be in it) only matters at deployment - after you deploy the empty Rhino, anyone can get in.

OK, thanks guys. I believe that answers the question. Doesn't solve the problem though as I need 3 Rhinos out of thin air ^.^

Out of thin air not possible.
You could take 3 tac squads of 10, give each a rhino, combat squad all 3.
Result is 3 5 man combat squads each in a rhino, and 3 5 man combat squads on foot.
No good way to accomplish this though.

Buying 5 man Purifier squads was exactly what i wanted to avoid. The plan was something like this:
HQ:
150 - Castellan Crowe
Troop:
398 - 10 Purifiers (240)
4 Psycannons (40)
4 Halberds (8)
2 Daemon Hammer (10)
Psybolt Ammo (20)
Rhino (40)
Rhino (40)
398 - 10 Purifiers (240)
4 Psycannons (40)
4 Halberds (8)
2 Daemon Hammer (10)
Psybolt Ammo (20)
Rhino (40)
Rhino (40)
398 - 10 Purifiers (240)
4 Psycannons (40)
4 Halberds (8)
2 Daemon Hammer (10)
Psybolt Ammo (20)
Rhino (40)
Rhino (40)
Heavy:
135 - Psyrifleman Dread
135 - Psyrifleman Dread
135 - Psyrifleman Dread

Buying PsyAmmo for each of the three 10 man squads and THEN split them in 5 man squads giving each
one a Rhino. This would effectivly cut the cost for PsyAmmo in half and still give me the standard
MSU-Purifier-Rhino-Spam.
Obviously this doesn't work.
Might downsize one squad and/or one dread and fiddle about with henchmen though. Taking Henchmen
and giving them Rhinos might work. Good idea. Didn't even had henchmen in consideration.
