Hi dakkites want to know if what i have as a current 1,500 point list is any good against a typical army like other main marine armies.

HQ:

Abaddon The Dispoiler - 275pts

Elite:

5 x Chosen Space Marines - 170pts
w/ 4 x meltas, aspiring champion, power weapon.

Troops:

10 x Khorne Beserkers - 265pts
w/ skull champion, power fist, plasma pistol.

10 x Khorne Beserkers - 280pts
w/ plasma pistol, skull champion, power fist, plasma pistol.

10 x Chaos Space Marines - 250pts
w/ aspiring champion, power fist, plasma pistol, icon of chaos glory, plasma gun, heavy bolter.

Heavy Support:

Land Raider - 260pts
w/ pintle mounted havoc launcher, daemonic possession.

Would like advice to see if this is a decent army.

Also i would like for you to put in a 1500 point army list of yours inn so i can get a feel of what i would come up against in an average match.

As hinted at, the lack of transports means that your mostly close range army is likely to suffer at the hands of your opponents shooting before they get to fight back. I've not run abaddon in any lists, but my feeling is that he probably needs support in the form of target saturation. I'm guessing you're planning to put him in the raider, and probably with a unit of bezerkers (although you'd need to drop a guy from one squad to get all of them in). Either way, he's going to attract a lot of fire with little else for your opponent to prioritise on. Resilient as he may be, if he is the only thing you're opponent needs to shoot at for a couple of turns then he may go down before you get to chop loyalists into teeny pieces.

Common opinion is that abby doesn't function well in smaller points games, as there are other HQ choices that might fit better in this list: Kharn for example. The spare 100 points or so could be used giving the other 3 squads a rhino each.

Not definitive by any means, but it might help you get a little more out of your games, especially against firepower however armies like IG.

You're going to take a lot of fire with footslogging Berzerkers; giving them transports is almost certainly the best thing you can do to this list. Abbadon is horrifically expensive and he's an incompetent (seriously, guys, thirteen Black Crusades and every time he turns tail and flees back into the Eye of Terror with no successes?), were I you I'd replace him with a generic Daemon Prince and use the leftover points to get Rhinos.

My 1,500pt Eldar army is generally five Pathfinders, two or three Dire Avenger squads in Wave Serpents, a Striking Scorpion squad, a Farseer, and some mixture of HS choices (Falcons, Dark Reapers, Wraithlord).

Honestly, Abbadon sucks. Using Nurgle Daemon Princes w/ Wings is pretty scary. Lash Lists don't compete anymore due to all the damn Transports and Anti-Psyker availability.

Plague Marines in Rhinos w/ Plasma Guns, and Meltagun Havoc Rhino Squads do very well for me at 1000 or more pts.

No offense but I honestly think I could reliably table your army.

I'll 2nd the transports suggestion and also recommend dropping the Landraider as they are more or less junk imo.

Honestly i would use more transports if my opponent didnt always penetrate and gets a 6 on the damage table (hence the foot slogging. So instead i use terrain and space out men within the squad as not to be hit too badly by blast weaponry.
Also who says abaddon is unreliable ive used him many times and yes although he can pop himself due to drachnyen it is worth the risk i have taken down multiple parts of armies for example tyranids i faced a 1500 point monsters army killing 2 trygons 4 full squads of tyranid warriors with alpha the only thing he had left was 2 carnifexs with 1 wound each left. I did forget to deepstrike my other lord which would probably have won me the game. So there you go and dorian nice army i guess ill have to take a few shas'ui skulls for the throne :-D

if he can it might be worth considering so he dosnt take up land raider space for the zerks.

He hath terminator so yes he can. However he can't assault on the turn he enters, so if your reserve rolls are bad then he's going to spend a lot of the game not doing anything, and is arguably too expensive to do that.

No my roll reserves are good can he deepstrike himself or does he have to be with terminators to use it

Abaddon doesnt suck achilles hes a complete beast and can take on anything in CC and ruins all. Yes his points are expensive which is why you probably shouldnt field him in a smaller sized game 1500 pts. i personally field him at 2000 points. Hower to the OP why dont you drop two zerkers from a sqaud and put abaddon with that squad in your landraider you already have Daemon possession ???

hate to say it but he is kinda like muphestion, probbly spelled that wrong lol, but he is just too many points and he doesnt do enough

anyone worth their salt will see him and then just shoot him with a couple meltaguns and bolters and he falls over

just go for a basic lord with a deamon weapon works just as well and no where near as exspensive.

though i would suggest trying him out in a 2000pt list where he doesnt take up as many points

I took another look at this list and i personally think you should change up your HQ choice for Kharn hes 110 pts less and you could Drop one khorn berzerker from a squad and attach him to them and put them into your Landraider with daemon possesion, hell get into combat nice and quick and do what he does best main kill burn lol.

With your other Zerkers you really need a rhino for them they are CC monsters they need and must go into a rhino.. with Kharn instead of abaddon the extra points you can afford some more transport..

Also a tactic that is obvious but w.e ; you could run Kharn in the LR with a 9 man squad and the other squad of zerkers in a rhino right, but your opponent will be focused on your LR try your best to get those chosen in a position where they can pop your opponetns anit tank because hell be using all his big guns to take down that LR.. im trying to think what you can do with this list :?

Not if his opponent knows what he's doing he won't. Three squads of zerkers in transports, 1 LR and 2 Rhinos, the obvious course of action should be to pop the Rhinos first because they're soft then shoot the raider.
Sinking all of your fire into the tough as hell unit and leaving the easy prey alone is a bad idea, that said some opponents will still do it.

Well i would except 2 things firstly like i said before its ok having more transport if it doesnt blow up first turn my brother (my opponent) he is famed for destroying vehicles he destroyed a guard army with 2 venom thropes a fex and trygon and took out 10 tanks while the rest of the nids walked the field all of them wrecked or destroyed the guy he beat was stockports champion. I think i will boost 1500 to 2000 points by adding:

5 x possessed marines - 150
W/IOS
this would simply be for running at him using cover and getting shot at as i have used them before and he hates them plus in combat they chew up 5 man combat squads with ease my brother takes.

Dreadnought - 105pts
w/plasma cannon
just to pin enemy infantry and light vehicles also to combat the storm raven and used as cover for land raider.

Huron blackheart - 170pts
just to aid infantry and kill people within cover and assault unique characters.

Rhino - 70pts
w/dozer blades, havoc launcher, extra armour.
For a squad of beserkers these will be covered by fire from my 10 man squad with the bigger guns :-).
Deepstriking abbadon for sure on turn 3 to take the main hq because by then th beserkers are up the vindicare is dead along with the storm raven.

My harbingers would quite easily educate you upstarts on the might of the Allfather.

Thakabalpuphorsefishguy. Seriously all i have to dp is take your melta squad and obliterators and all the rest of your army falls in place the land raider is safe. So really you wouldnt be educating me in anyway.

The hardest target is the Land Raider, obviously, but with plenty of mobile melta, it shouldn't be much of an issue. The berserkers and Abaddon are nasty, but with 6 Lascannons, 10 Missiles, a Plasma Cannon, and no Psyker protection, I don't think there would be much hitting my line by the time your army crossed the table.

As has been said, you have a mostly slow moving army (on foot) without much long range fire power or ways to quickly and reliably get to grips with your opponent. Your land raider will get focused and taken out, and the rest of your army kited.

You have your zerk plasma pistols on regular guys right? Because you definitely don't want your power fist to fry himself lol.

With 2 fire dragon squads, your single land raider is going to go down faster than an insecure cheerleader, and the Eldar have enough speed to kite the rest of your army and out shoot them.

Aretwo yours is solid all that dakka it would be hard to deal with that i would have to focus mostly against meltas.
Same for you akaean fast though you lack stregnth but i guess your weapons just mop up infantry. By the way what is best to have in an eldar army as i will be putting up an official tournament list when i have bought the codex.
