Subject: certain orks worth fielding?

I'm new to orks and haven't played against many orks so I my knowledge of them is limited to the codex but I was just wondering if the following units are worth fielding because in the codex they look pretty good but never really see them in peoples lists on the forums or in the few ork armies I have seen in my local shop:
1. Wierdboyz
2. Meganobz
3.Stormboyz
4.Warbuggies

It depends really.
Meganobs are hard as nails but slow, so you'll need a transport.
Stormboys are faster, but die easily to gunfire.
Warbuggies are pretty neat, but you'll need a lot of them to be effective, and they only come 1 in a box.
Wierdboyz are...Ok I guess. A tad unpredictable but fun to use. I personally never use them but they seem alright.

You'll not see wierdboys in a tournament list often, because they are too random to predict how effective that will be (mathhammer matters a LOT to torney folks, sometimes..). Persoinally i love 'em
Meganobz are ok, but the models are gruesomely expensive, and there are other units in the elite slot to compete against.
Stormboys are basically just a boyz squad, with the added chance of dying horribly every time they move. They are a bit sub-par compared to deffkoptas/bikers/etc. I love the models, but rarely use mine as they just aren't that great.
Warbuggies are actually pretty good as cheap annoyance units. They make it into a lot of lists, though apparently not where you play. rokkit buggies make good 'zoom around the field and sideshot tanks' units

Actually, I know one guy who made his Meganobz from SM Termies. And Stormboyz only die on a roll of a 1. Any other roll gives them extra movement. So they can potentially have a 24" charge.

Fair enough then
Stormboyz are a very fast boyz squad with suicidal tendencies nonetheless. You'd be surprised how often that 1 comes up..
If you like them, and they work for you, then go with it

1. Wierdboyz- Cheap troop choices for low point games, stick 'em with a nob or slugga boyz squad and hope a 5 is rolled. Teleport right behind the enemy.
2. Meganobz-Depends who you are playing. Power weapons you must take grotsnik along with them and give them cybork bodies and a 5+ invuln.
But always use a trukk.
3.Stormboyz-Good with zagstruk in a unit of 12 or more. Deepstrike, swoop attack, into a vehicle or devestator squad, boom, try to stay in combat for 2 turns to avoid getting shot.
4.Warbuggies- Rubbish, trukks with no transport capacity, what else can I say.
A general rule of the thumb for orks.
BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ etc.

non of them are really considered "competitive"
But Weirdboyz and meganobz are nice in friendly games, stormboyz are very hit or miss, as are warbuggies...

Of what you listed, meganobs and weirdboyz/warpheads are most commonly taken.
Warpheads are excellent on the table, for such a low cost you get multiple bonuses, and who doesn't love a 36 inch range auto-hitting melta gun? +1 attack to all units in the same squad? Waaaagh!s for free?
Meganobs on the other hand are poor sub-par terminators, but with a few options can work just fine. Adding the mad doc as an HQ gives you the option to give then an invun save, and putthing him with them in a wagon allows them to have FNP. Beyond that, they are just heavy hitting nobs, of which you could do better, and cheaper, with normal nobs.
