Am i mistaken or do none of the dreadnought kits have the multi melta as an available part a.k.a. the default weapon for the dreadnought.

When the kit was made the Multi-Melta wasn't the standard weapon.

IIRC, the Black Reach dreadnought is the only one with a MM arm.

As far as I can recall this is correct. Although I never run a dread with the mm arm. Just not really worth it to me.

It is, it was designed for the 5th ed codex where it became the default weapon over the Assault Cannon.

Forgeworld sells MM arms.
Not sure how well they fit the normal models though.

The Dreadie kit was designed in 3e IIRC or maybe early 4. When the default weapon was the AC, at the time it was released all of the upgrades in the box were all the upgrades in the codex, which was a marked improvement over the pewter dread, which did happen to have a MM arm version.

Correct. The only DD with a MM is the AoBR. I've bought two of them on Ebay for $20 a piece. Can't beat that price for a DD with a unique bit.

If you're using Dreadnoughts from the AOBR or the standard GW packaging make sure you buy the MK V arms from Forge World not the MK IV.

You could always find one of the metal 2nd ed. dreadnoughts, they're nice enough models and came with either multi-melta or assault cannon.

That's where my dread MM came from.
METAL dreads.
But that's because I like the metal models for them.
There was a metal assault cannon, lascannon (twin-linked), multi-melta, dccw and missile pod arms for the metals. I have all of them and a few doubles.

I use an AOBR Dread, but I took off the power fist and replaced it with a Missile Launcher, and I also run a Dread with a Power Fist and Assault Cannon from the kit.

Indeed it did. But it was desifgned to have the PC, which no other dreadnought kit yet had.
