OK, heres an interesting one....how would you do an IG Tunnel Fighters Army?

Obviously it'll be infantry heavy, though what heavy support options would you take? Would you take any tanks at all?

Theme wise the Kreig Hades Drill would be a perfect fit, but what of the squad weapons and could a cut-down Sentinel be justified?

Sentinels would be a bit of a stretch but probably fun to convert into a compact variant. Perhaps use sentinel rules and make a shorter smaller four legged version? Lot of potential there.

As far as the troops go, shotgun vets with carapace armour and flamers would fit the bill nicely.

Yeah, flamers and meltaguns would be big (by coincidence they are also very good weapons under the current rules - hurrah!) maybe include some SWS with demo charges as engineers. Just general close combat platoons and maybe penal legion to represent the experience at close quarters. On the sentinels, scouts would obviously be of limited use in tunnels, but armoured sentinels, especially with heavy flamers, would be exactly the type of thing. Not great rules for those IMO, but you could use them for tying up enemy troops or something.

Sentinels I could fluff-wise justify as probably a power armour like combat rig, perhaps even these chaps from Westwind's SOTR?

For sentinels, I'd take the normal sentinel, remove the legs and put on tracks. That way it's shorter and more compact. A tiny little mini tank.

Put a trailer on the back and *poof* transport.

Low profile sentinels FTW

Although from a "realistic" point of view I quite like the idea of an armoured cockpit to protect the driver from close range shenanegans.
