Hey I'm thinking of playing fantasy I was thinking of playing warriors of chaos, beastmen, or dark elves. Which do you think is the best for a newbie to start playing.

Beastmen are difficult to use. They're good for beginners if you're looking to get the snot beat out of you at first in order to get better, but not really recommended for beginners, otherwise. I think that picking an army like that will help you get a good grasp of how fantasy works, but you may not like it much if you constantly lose...
For the record, I love my beastmen, but no, I don't have a winning record with them; I'm still working on that

Just out of curiosity, what goes wrong for you? I know the problems with Beastmen units, but I mean where in the game does it turn pear-shaped?

I like my beastmen. 8 pts for WS4 T4 S3 A2 aint bad for core, did I mention a leadership roll for rerolling misses, almost gauranteed with LD9-10 with BSB reroll. BSB can take a banner to boost them up to S4, not to mention Wyssans (lore of beasts signature spoell)being able to get off on them easier. Bestigor are 12 pts for WS4 T4 S6 (great weapons) and heavy armor also with the leadership test for rerolling misses. They can dominate the magic phase with a 50pt item that is placed as terrain that all casters within 6 inches auto generate power dice during the casting phase then those casters channel. So you round up 3 75pts level ones around the thing and you get 3 extra dice plus they roll to channel so you end up getting on average 11-12 power dice a turn. Then your level 3 or 4 can generate dice for him with a 10pt arcane item and is a beast in combat unlike most fragile glass casters. Then those level 3 go shadow or beasts and buff and debuff, making it a brutal combination. Also 55pt razorgor and harpy groups are great for mage, bsb, war machine and other purposes like redirecting. Beastmen are very overlooked and can be very brutal. They also can get access to some monsters, minotaur, and centigor however these are generally overcosted and you have to build a list around them but they can be brutal as well. The bring thing is that primal fury, Beastmen were the last book before 8th came out and they were designed specifically looking to 8th.
The downside is an almost non existent shooting phase, sometimes ungor raiders can put a last wound on a monster but don't expect awesomeness out of them. But at 6pts a pop for a skirmishing unit they are pretty cool.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

My biggest problem is failed charges. It generally puts me in a position to get charged the next turn, which is not generally ideal. And if they don't charge me on their turn, it's because they are a shooty army, and so they get an extra turn of shooting at me. So I guess it mostly comes down to trying to master the movement phase. Also I agree with Hargus. Almost always. I personally think we have the best core unit in the game. WoC you say? I have hatred, and twice as many models as you
