Allright Dakka, I've got a problem and my wallet hates me for it.

See, the thing is, I keep starting new armies without being able to finish another, or actually finish up this army. So far I've got a bunch of Mentoh (I guess about 20/25 points) , I've got the Khador Startersbox, Trollbloods Startersbox and a few more models, and now i'm already bored with these and i would like to start Legion.

The worst part is actually, i don't do anything with the models. I glue the together, paint a few of 'em, and then they just simply sit there, gathering dust.

Got any advice on how to solve this problem?

Cheers

I've got the same problem. In fact, I think a lot of people on here have this problem. You need to find some motivation to have a painted force. I don't know what that is for you. I started painting a lot once my wife started giving me a hard time about all my half painted guys.

You need to leave them in a conspicuous place along with some paints, then you'll do a little work at a time.

I'm terrible i must have 15 heavy jacks and loads of infantry still in their blisters.

I've just bought a new desk to put them on and hopefully have something to work on there all the time so i can chip away at my massive backlog

We love what we love. Reason does not enter into it. In many ways, unwise love is the truest love. Anyone can love a thing because. That's as easy as putting a penny in your pocket. But to love something despite. To know the flaws and love them too. That is rare and pure and perfect.

Obsidianaura has the best advise... i just put the models on my workstation that i want/need painted and they just sit there till they get completely painted. Then once thats done i put them away and get more out.

The worst thing to do is put all the models that need to be painted on your workstation. Reasons being that ofcourse you won't have any room to paint, and that you'll look at them all and go 'O...M...G' then try to put your head up ur ass so that you can't see them anymore. So just concentrate on one of your armies and paint the lot.. yeah it may take a while, but then you'll look at your wallet and go 'WOW', then go buy a load more..... this hobby is really just a viscious circle isn't it......

Well, the main problem here is i lose all intrest in a faction after i bought the models, and therefore i lose painting intrest..

Even though the painting tips are nice, i'm mainly looking for tips to regain my intrest in armies.

Usually if I have a drought, gaming helps, but that doesn't
seem to be an option for you :(

I agree with Malfred...gaming helps. I now own 4 factions due to the new starter kit. I have unpainted models for all my factions and have little time to paint. That being said playing with the army reminds me why I want them painted as I can't stand looking at unpainted figures. After a game with the army I will go back and pull out an unpainted miniture and pull out the paints...I'll get some color on them and get around to finishing them eventually.

With you having multiple armies, try recruiting some friends to play. I find the more I play the more I want to play/paint. If you have kids, get them started (wife/girlfriend?).

My wallet is pretty upset with me too.

I have like 75 pts of menoth which I am not finished painting and losing interest in (debating if i should sell/trade them now or after I get done painting them). I have 2 Cryx Battlegroups in various states of assembly...1 plastic from a trade and 1 metal from another trade. I have 1 Skorne Battlegroup unbuilt. And finally, I'm taking up Khador again and have a Battlegroup, the Butcher, and the War Dog for that faction.

Mudge has a good idea, though, about getting others to play the game utilizing your multiple armies. I'd do it with some of my buddies if they weren't all 4 hours away.

Well to be quite honest, my advise would be to play! Use your models. I was switching armies all the time, but when i finally started playing my Skorne solely and expanded them i really started to love them and i'm now thinking about getting rid of some of the other stuff
