Subject: Need help with Kan Wall

This is what I have so far. It totals up to about 1630, and I need 2k for local gaming. What do you guys think I should add? This is my first ork list, but I've always been fascinated with Ork Big Meks and their crazy contraptions. I could add in a group of Mega Nobz with a Battlewagon? Or some Lootas, or even some storm boyz. Honestly, I'm not sure which direction to go.

Well the list si looking good for sure. I personally love lootas. That is a big possibility. I run both lootas and meganobs in my list. I however don't transport them I walk them up with the army. I am not a fan of rokkits on the boys, but thats more of a personal taste. I do shootas with bshootas, works wonders. There is the possibilty of buzz koptas. Deff kopta with a buzzsaw. They can be useful. there are a few options for you but you really need to figure out what your list is lacking to really pick something.
You need to take the riggers off of the kans. Squadron rules if it gets immobilized then it is destroyed. Will not help you.
Other then that looks good to me.

A Wagon doesn't really suit the rest of your list, as a Kanwall is a footslogging army. Having one unit charging ahead in a Wagon can often leave them hanging out to dry. Lootaz are a good choice, laying down some support while your ladz march across the board, and Stormboyz can pack quite a punch while being maneuverable enough to hit the enemy pretty much anywhere you need them to.

Lootas are a good choice as are Buzzkoptas. Three squads of five Lootas is 225 points and Buzzkoptas are 70 each. That should get you to 2,000. Also, a squad of Grots is not a bad idea.
Those are the units that synthesize well with the Kan Wall. Next in line would be Rokkit Buggies or Scorchas, but they don't fit quite as well as those above.
Wagons, Trukks, and Stormboyz are all poor fits for the Kan Wall.

I like it. Buzzkoptas are a popular alternative, but rokkit buggies are solid.
Rokkits in the Boyz squads is a pretty good choice for Kan Wall; you'll want to shoot more than you think and rokkits can get results against transports in particular.

The list is solid; I'm not suggesting Koptas are essential, just a good alternative.
What Koptas give you is alpha-strike potential. If you go first, they are charging a stationary tank, it's almost dead-certain. It's usually worth the loss of the Kopta, which is also almost dead-certain.
Buggies are a little more durable, but don't expect them to last either. But what do you want for 35-points a pop?
Kan Wall is a really good list at 1750-1850. To get to 2,000 you have to add something, but nothing really makes the list much better. Dreads are one route, I can't really say they do much good, but all the other slots are full.
More Boyz would make the army egregiously tedious to play and play against. More Lootas is a dubious return on investment, so Dreads is what people usually do.
Me? I stick to 1850.
I do, however, love my IA8 Kan Wall at 2,000.

Some good options are, Snikrot wiith 2 burnas to pop up in the back field and take some heat off your wall,Deffkopta with a buzzsaw to scout and then assault turn one .One thing that i might recommend is have one of the kan squads with grotzookas since you have more than enough rokkits with the boys buggies and kans

I would point out that from your original list, grot riggers on kanz in a squad are probably a waste of points. They MIGHT help on the last Kan. Until then, the immobilized results are treated as destroyed - wrecked.
I saw you changed it, but it's something to avoid. We can always use more points!

Those Deff Dreads are rubbish man. They serve no purpose in this list besides walker saturation. They are slow to get into combat too as they do not have waaaagh! I would drop them and investe in more Lootas, you will need them.

Some things I want to pass along. Grotzookas are brilliant I killed a lot of space marines with them. Lootas were OK I admit I was rolling low for the number of shots but as the Kan Wall moved up there were rounds where I had nothing to shoot. The kopta was brilliant, first turn I get a weapon destroyed result on a venerable dred. This ended up saving some kanz down the road. It then went splat but did it's job.

The deff dreads are a scary looking, meant to distract people from the real threats of the army, if they focus on the two deff dreads, that means that there are shots not being taken on the rest of the army that really matters. So for 100 points, I'm more than happy to provide a distraction.
Plus, if they actually do something, that's even better!

The DeffDreads I have used have done well for me. They provide a much needed distraction as they walk up or run up to get in there face.

Only dumb players fire at Deff Dreads when the true threats are Lootas or Boyz. If someone is firing at the Deff Dreads then they are not doing very well at all, and then you're paying 100 + points for a fire magnet which isn't hard to take down. A smart player would ignore the Deff Dreads.
