Hi, I have been thinking about doing some terrain inspired by the Luke's uncle's farm in Star wars and now finally I got something done. These have been long coming as I originally got the inspiration while watching the Attack of Clones in the cinema. But as we say in Finland, well planned is half made. I have put some models into pics to make them more interesting and to give the scale.
Eldar mechanized scouting force is going through some rough terrain.
Eldar pathfinder is readying the aim on some wyches.
Wyches are guarding the door of the command silo.
Dark eldar warriors are going by the pumping station.
Dark eldar warriors are ambushed on the corner of the hut.
Word Bearers Land Raider is rolling by the garage.
Melee erupts in front of the garage.
More pics with option for bigger pictures can be found from:

In games the big houses thatblock movement and the line of sight have been really fun. Normally we have been playing with my friend's gw ruins in which it's quite hard to be totally hidden. Now after I got these ready I'm already planning to get some more stuff done. Hopefully for next I'll make some smaller stuff like fences, condensation water collectors etc. I've also always wanted to do a big hill with a greenhouse carved inside. I just need to get a hot wire cutter from somewhere.
Anyways comments and hints to make them better are welcome.

They look great. I absolutely love the little yellow building. I don't really have anything useful to add, but just wanted to say well done.

As far as terrain goes, this is simple and perfect. Sure, having a spectacular city scape that was bought out of a box is impressive, but your work is just the right balance. It looks good but not SO good that it is the focus of the game. Terrain is terrain. U run on it and your dudes fight on it. These pieces get the idea across perfectly and your models still look great in comparison. Well done!

The buildings are nice. I like seeing scratchbuilt stuff rather than store bought business. It seems more 'hobby' than the resin whatnots. The one thing I could see is that the buildings could stand to be more interactive. The more you can do with a piece of terrain, the better it is. As it is, all the buildings can do is function as blocking terrain. If you were to add holes (so they could be shot through and provide cover) or some way to get on top of them, it would make them multipurpose, and that much cooler.
All in all, I like these.

My friend has been supposed to bring me some ladders for the big silo, but haven't got them yet. All of the buildings have doors so it's possible to enter the buildings. Only one of them has windows to shoot out though. It's fun to have some real los and movement blocking terrain, but as I said I'm planning to add different types of terrain to the table also. I do have some trees and one older building that should be repainted that I'll do next.

All of it is excellent work! Loving the simplicity behind everything, it doesn't take away from the models, but gives them a cinematic backdrop to fight on! I think the only thing they're missing are posters or something to bring the eye to every once in a while, like hazard stripes. Other than that, you've got a beautiful set of terrain here!

The thought is that the buildings are sort of imperial STC buildings for frontier worlds. That's why I used so many angles to similarize them to space marine vehicles etc. and the yellow hut is made by the settlers afterwards from the available materials so it doesn't have automatized doors etc. I had few ruins of same kind of huts, but they have been lost at some point. Maybe one or two ruined houses would be cool to have, just for the situations when the buildings get blown apart during the game.
Also I have to do some moisture vaporizers with maybe few broken down droids with them.

Hi, I (re-)painted my last existing terrain piece, a pumping station:
We also had the first game with the new terrain. I took some photos of the clash between my Thalandor Eldar and my friend's "Brown Angels" chapter. By coincidence the fight culminated on the "newest" building.
More pics from our fight can be found from:
http://jamo.1g.fi/kuvat/figukuvia/maasto/taistelu1/
Next I'll get to do some actually new stuff. Something smaller stuff will be first in line. Some moisture condensers, fences etc. Especially I had in my mind some kind of "electrical" fence which would be dangerous terrain in the game. Maybe some sort of line of pylons that you ca cross freely, but have to check for dangerous terrain. That would be interesting.
Of course I'll also need some hills. Specially the one with the greenhouse carved inside. I just need to get some foam and a hot wire cutter first.
I'm also open for any suggestions for suitable terrain pieces.
