What do you think? Mai drawback is the plain Valkyrie, which i could maybe turn in a vendetta (overkill?) in exchange of 2 PG...

I would go with the vendetta, and swap out for some meltaguns, since you have very little anti armor.

On the chimeras, were you replacing the multilaser or heavy bolters with the heavy flamers, or both?

I'd say keep the multilasers.

At 500 points just take a bunch of tooled out vet squads with range. Mech struggles at 500.

I'd skew it the other way actually: Melta vets instead of Flamer vets for antimech, and a plain Valk w/ Rocket Pods for anti-hoarde. You've still got Heavy Flamers on the Chimeras.

Tier 1 is the new Tactical.

I also agree that mech guard at this level is not an advantage.

Who is holding your rear objective? A third of your Force, half of your scoring force. The Chimeras are not hard to take out you have to dump out your CCS to use it.

Non-Mech just gives you more firepower and more boots on the ground.

Drop the PG and give them a LC, 2 Snipers and cloaks. Camp them somewhere where they have good LOS, preferably in terrain for the nice 3+ cover. Drop the bird for now.

No need for the flamers as FRFSRF will get you enough kills at 500. Drop the chimera.

For the mech add in 2 Vendettas (yeah freaking two birds). This gives you 6 (7 on a succesful order) TL LC. That will chew up any mech double quick and drop any DP from chaos. FRFSRF and the snipers can then go to work on the infantry. If anything gets too close to your guardsmen simply hop in the vendetta and fly to the other side of the board.
