The escalation of conflict in the Storm Zone has brought the Destroyer class ship for each faction into the fray. Their cruiser sized hulls are deceptive, as these vessels pack a punch far greater than their compact profiles may imply. Destroyers are a sniper style of vessel, boasting the ability to pump out powerful salvos at longer ranges. They do, however, lack the staying power of a frontline battle craft, leading them to operate in pairs for maximum effectiveness.

Dindrenzi Federation - Trident Class Destroyer
The Directorate - Nemesis Class Destroyer
Aquan Prime - Stingray Class Destroyer
The Relthoza - Venom Class Destroyer
Sorylian Collective - Kestros Class Destroyer

No release dates yet, but with the Dreadnought Class being released this month, I suspect we'll be looking at January 2012.

...so they're Battlecruisers... not "destroyers".

Given they are all called 'Destroyer' Class, I'd have thought they were Destroyers........

He was probably referring more to their stated role, which doesn't sound very much like a traditional destroyer.

The models look nice, especially the Aquan one.

Generally, up-gunned cruisers are called Battlecruisers, whereas destroyers are usually more along the line of up-gunned support vessels/frigates.
Nice models though, might have to get this game at some point.

Firestorm is looking even better now.

I think the stats on these places emphasis on their fixed forward / foward broadside batteries which would go in line with Spartan's description of them being mroe like 'snipers'.

Eitherway, its more good news and proof that the Firestorm Armada is being eveloved and supported. It also show's its a popular game as if it wasn't selling, they wouldn't be supporting it.

Love the look! Too bad the fleets are all still so homogenous on the table. And can we please see some Aquan 2.0 with these new designs?
