Last night I wanted to take some pictures of my Dark Eldar to show you guys what I've been up to, and that I also do paint stuff. I thought I'd make it interesting and add some Tyranids to make a sort of mini diorama using my existing models.

The Dark Eldar of the House of 1,000 Corpses defends a maiden world from a Tyranid attack. The Dark Eldar have little interest in the planet itself, but are here to gather poisons and lost Eldar artefacts.

Hormagaunts swarm a fall Venom while Dark Eldar Warriors gun down their attackers with salvos of splinter fire before been cut limb from limb by hordes of scything talons.

Mistress Haemonculus, the Princess of Pain prepares to deliver a death blow to the Hive Tyrant known as the Devil King while supporting Trueborn blast the Devil King's accompanying Tyrant Guard to pieces with dark matter weaponry.

A rare Stonecrusher Carnifex prepares to charge a unit of Trueborn and anything else it's path of rampage.

Trueborn blast salvos of blaster fire into the Tyranid ranks with support from a Venom skimmer.

A Wych hired by the Coven in exchange for healing after arena battles prepares to jump into the melee.

A Venom banks to intercept a Tyranid foe as a Wych prepares to dive off and engage the Tyranid horde.

This is a very cool idea I may do something like this if you don't mind. Excellent job like a snappy bat-rep without the fight. Lovely painting. Well done

Thanks. Dark Eldar aren't completely finished yet, still got to do the bases, but I'll do that once the army is finished. I thought at least adding the Tyranids would make a difference tothe normal static photos.

And of course, copy away!

Love the narrative! What I can see of the Dark Eldar looks good ... my only criticism would be that the pics are a little on the dark side.

No matter who I root for ... the baddies will win!

Love the idea and concept! I'm assuming this is still a work in progress since the bases hasn't been removed from the figures for diorama and are just used for placement determination. Nice work!

TBH mate the Dark Eldar themselves are dark as washed with badab black and then devlan mud.

This isn't a full diorama. As mentioned at the top of my post as I was just taking pics of my Dark Eldar and I thought I would spice it up a bit.

Looks good, how did you paint the blue on the Dark eldar?

"Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be re-learned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim darkness of the far future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods."

If this is a "mini diorama" of yours, then I would love to see a large one.

I might suggest taking the display board out side, natural light seems to do wonders for my pictures (I'm terrible at getting lighting right).

Just finish the bases to match. The armies look great!

Thanks dude. Carapace on the 'Nids was done with two coats of scab red and washed with sepia.

I'll get a full scale one up when I can.

It's a nice model but I've checked out the rules and in game it's just a Carnifex with crushing claws.
