Does tank shocking fearless units do anything?

"Sir, intelligence reports the enemy can't swim."
"GOOD, DROWN THEM IN BODIES!"

makes them move out of the way as they automatically pass the morale test.

It'd also matter how far your tank travels as if you end up going through them, then essentially nothing happens but if you are inside of them through maximum movement range of your unit, the fearless guys just get moved slightly out of the way of your tank to within 1' of it but still in coherency. page 68 of the small rule book

You can always use it to create space for another unit or to attempt to stop them getting assaulted. Fearless units just automatically pass the Leadership Test.

Force them to move off of objectives.....force them to bunch up so you can drop a template on more of them.....shove them out of synapse(Nids) or FnP (Blood Angels) range......bunch of reasons to tank shock fearless stuff.

This kills a maximum of 1 and threatens a far more valuable battle-tank, not to mention it's basing a whole strategy off an enemy mistake, so don't try this unless in very unusual circumstances.

Ty all for the info, now for a related question, why doesn't running over a squad with a 50ton battle tank hurt?

power armor! heheh jk, I'd imagine they just move out of the way like it says in the manual. If you do actually manage to crush one under a tank, i.e. failed death or glory, then yes, they die without any saves so that'd mean it does hurt! alot! unless you are necron, then you just have green magic to make it not hurt kekekekekeke

Its easy enough to hit someone with a tank, but it is very hard to be unaware enough to get hit by a tank.

Know thy self. Everything follows this.

You're right in that it shouldn't be the primary reason for tank shocking. It's more of an added bonus than anything else.

I always hope that people try the death or glory against one of my Flickerfield/Shock Prow Raiders. Not only can I clump them together nice and tight for a wrack drive-by, but I can take out their sergeat with that powerfist if he tries to take out my cheap little paper airplane.

Rhino more valuable than a Paladin? That's debatable.

Pretty sure hes agreeing with you, saying it would sac a valuable unit for a sub par unit.
