After a recent game I've realized I have no heavy choices. I run white scars and am keeping my army highly mobile. I've been looking towards a Pred. Seems like could be the best option. I've kinda looked at getting a thunderfire cannon as well though it wouldn't fit in very well to have a unit that would probably not move. Not really needing help to pop armor, though may run into problems if I ever play against heavy armor. Would really like help getting some strong firepower to help ID painful units. Ran into a big problem ousting Feel No Pain Chaos Marines last night. Give me some feed back

Plasma guns. Wound on a 2+ and ignore FNP...insta dead those plague marines!

Not really sure how to incorportate a heavy choice into a Scars themed army. High speed is suppose to be their numero uno trait, however if you are willing to "flex" a bit you could pick up a Las Predator or a Vindy. Both of these can pop heavy armor pretty well.

I've seen white scar armies that run annihilator preds.

You could go with lascannon turret preds, no sponsons. That way they can go 6 and still shoot. Or go with the standard AC/2LC predators so you can move them and shoot the autocannon, or stand still and shoot to full effect. But honestly, the vanilla book's heavy section is really heavy. Not much moving going on there sad to say.

Yea after playing using my Rhinos I've began to think that the slowness of the Predator wouldnt be too bad. I've got a few plasmas in my list from last night though they ended up on the opposite end of the table dealing with a dred. The melta's I threw at it just didn't have the desired effect, partially due to mediocre rolls on my part. I don't want to over depend on the Plasma with the Gets hot roll possibly killing 1 of every 6 shots. Anyone have any experience with the Thunderfire. Thinking about custom building one and curious how effective they are.

There is a huge debate over the TFC. On one hand, it demolishes anything on a 25mm base. On the other hand, it is artillery and therefore fragile as all get out. I would say try it out, and see what you think. I personally think they are great, but I can see the reasons not to.

Honestly for me it's a choice between Vindicators or AC/LC predators for my heavy slots. The former will make FNP chaos marines get off your lawn in a hurry.

I guess by mobile white scars you mean you want to have the option of outflanking all or most of your army.

Heavy choices would not be so great in this. As they will left on the board and be shot up or will come on at the back and/or will miss a turn shooting.

Bike army then take typhoons and do not worry, you can run away from plague marines and then rush them all at once. bike squads with 2 plasma and mulitmelta are good at shooting down plague marines.

Razorbackspam means you can have your long ranged guns outflank and come on and shoot straight way. Las/TL plasma with take down the plague marines.

Else go MotF and dreads. You outflank most of your army and reserve the dreads. The dreads walk on from your edge and can shoot twice.

I would go with 2 predators and a whirlwind to support a white scars style army...but thats just me

Know thy self. Everything follows this.

I am not running a Korsarro Khan so do not have outflank to the whole army. By mobile i simply meant that I have 2 large squads of bikes, 4 land speeders(1 typhoon and 1 Assault cannon), and every troop that hits the board is in a rhino or drop pod. I'm not running Dreds, it goes against chapter beliefs. I know you don't have to follow those but thats the direction I'm going with my army and I'm staying there. I also refuse to razorspam. I've seen it's effectiveness first hand. I also saw my friend have no fun with the battle he spammed me. I want to have fun with my army not win at all cost. I'm thinking it will probably end up a predator. It will draw alot of fire but at the same point that frees up my speeders from so much persecution, in turn allowing them to deal out decent damage where needed

In your squads, doing the chainsword tango

@OP: Why are you not running vindicators? Mobile heavy support, that ID's anything that can be ID'd (str10), ignores FNP on plague marines, can take down heavy armor, moves and shoots so fits in with your theme... Go grab a pair of them. 230p, no upgrades. Fit's the bill you posted quite nicely, far better than any other HS choice

Honestly the only heavy support option that is highly mobile is the Land Raider. You can move the full 12 and still shoot a main weapon. Pick up a crusader and you can move 6" and shoot all your weapons(mm, assault cannon, 2 hurricane bolters and a sb).
