Iirc they are not too good as troops overly expensive (6 or 8 points or something) and are just as good as the tk 4 point skele.

Unfortunately.... they are very weak atm. They cost double the points of what they are worth.

Honestly, I'd take Lord Mannfred instead. He'll give you a much stronger magic phase with all of the Vamp and Death lore spells.

He's heavy in the combat. Konrad is similar, but unpredictable and no magic. Also, Vlad can come back to life.

IMO Vlad is not overly competitive, he's overly expensive and doesn't excel in any area apart from being hard to kill. For less points you can get a regular vamp lord that is much more killy or a far better caster.

So unless your going for a fluff or fun army I'd pretty much avoid Vlad, which is a shame because I do love the model...

Well, I can tell you that I'm pretty much running all skeleton. No ghouls. It's certainly not as powerful as only using the Ghouls, but way cooler imho. And that seals the deal for me.
Combined with Grave Guard and my converted Black Knights.
Doable in every way. So if that's what you want to do, then my only advice is: Do it!

I think that it will get better too, as the new AB will likely halve the points of skeletons (like happened to tomb kings), and Vlad is awsome ^^ (well, that means he is getting in, with his bony head )
