Completed this about 5 months ago, first conversion, but finally got a hold of a high res camera. Love how it turned out and glad I can share it with others. Thoughts?

That ork has to be compensating for something...

That silver color looks familiar… is it from folkart?

Looks good, nice bit of converting.

Believe it or not, boltgun metal, lol. Second thought that also might be my chainmail color, forget which I used.

Certainly looks good for a first conversion, what are the tracks from?

It does look a little featureless on some parts, perhaps a bolder paint job or some extra random armour plates on the barrels and that plating on the front would do it.

Love it. Took a look at the first picture and thought "No way ORCS got that to keep flying!", then I saw the tracks!

Need to work on getting rust anywhere near as good as yours, although I don't normally need it that much. Yours is great, especially around the engines and associated vents. Think the hatches could stand a little more recent scratches, they would be in constant use after all - but I'm really just nit-picking.

"Ask ten different scientists about the environment, population control, genetics, and you'll get ten different answers, but there's one thing every scientist on the planet agrees on. Whether it happens in a hundred years or a thousand years or a million years, eventually our Sun will grow cold and go out. When that happens, it won't just take us. It'll take Marilyn Monroe, and Lao-Tzu, and Einstein, and Morobuto, and Buddy Holly, and Aristophanes…then all of this…all of this…was for nothing. Unless we go to the stars." I've thought about adding a few extra armor plates here and there, but ultimately didn't have the bits at the time. Hell, the armor plates on the front are squares cut from a cd jewel case. The tracks came from a cheap WWII half track kit from Hobby Lobby, and it blends seamlessly doesn't it?

HIDING IN METAL BAWKSES!

As said somewhere above, more armor plates would have done good to take away some of the Tau-ness of it. Other than that, nice job!

I understand that principle, I just wanted there to be enough tau-ness there for it to be immediately obvious what I had looted so every Tau player I play against is thinking in the back of his mind "What have you done to my vehicle!"

Always have loved that aspect of looting with orks.

I love looted Tau stuff. The idea of a Mekboy slapping metal plates all over it, now it won't fly. Gives more juice to the engines, now they're almost blown. Decides to say screw it and slaps some tank treads on it and calls it a day. Tomorrow has a grot paint it red, while he sets about the tedious business of exponentially adding dakka, and finding enough bolts and rivets to make his delicate engineering dream a reality.

You have my mentality directly in mind, though never mind the red part, blue brings the favor of Mork, but yes, that's the exact mentality I bring when I've been looting these things.
