I though the battle would be yesterday. A bit of a pity since I was dying to see how they would get out of this one.

Been going through Kill la Kill. Pretty darn good. Except some parts in the animations are making me movement sick (or whatever it's called), especially noticable in episode 2 on the part with the homeroom teacher.
Spoiler:
Uzu looks really silly with those sown eyes. I don't think Satsuki is a bad person per se. Since it goes through to episode 25.

Finishing up Slayers Try. I have to say, I think I like that season the most. Valgaav is probably one of my favorite tragic villains in anime so far, and Jillas is just great.

Caught up with IS2. I suppose I should feel worse about the new blue haired girl, but since my first reaction was "NOT YET ANOTHER GIRL FOR THE HAREM" I don't particularly care.

Still rooting for Tatenashi or Charlotte.

Yet again my Satsuki Kiryuin's fanboy level has increased. Ridiculous, completely ridiculous how fantastic that character is. No, how ALL the "bad guys" characters are so far. Each and everyone of them is getting such a character development,

Spoiler:
... it's ridiculous how our main char seems to have the weakest backstory. Gamagoori's one was awesome and how he's protrayed, sex and bondage jokes aside, he is more of an hero than a villain.

It is amazing that we are getting this much character development AND action. It is makes you more emotionally invested in the show; which is a good thing for sure.

I know for sure it'll end up with those guys not being villains at all actually. I mean there is more than half a season to go on episodes. So they'll end up working together or something like that. At least I certainly hope so. The "Top 4" characters are pretty well done. And Satsuki seems to have just one emotion, so I hope that'll change in the course of time. (She has just two facial gestures. Smirking and glaring intensely.)
Spoiler:
Uzu still is an odd guy, liked hum more before he... y'know got his eyelids sown shut.

I did like the ending of the latest episode, I'm just not hoping for DBZ lenght stuff.

Full Metal Alchemist was the only anime I really watched and liked.
I tried to watch the new remake version (panic?) but didn't like it as much because it was telling the same story with a few different things but I didn't care much for it so never finished much of it.

I've been wondering about that myself. How things turn out will be quite the ride.

I haven't seen Brotherhood, but apparently it follows the manga, and the two series go in different directions halfway through.

The first was made while the Manga was still in production. When the anime caught up to the Manga, instead of doing more fillers (there is a bunch of filler stuff still in the first half) they just wrote their own ending. Brotherhood was made when the Manga was finished and follows its story and removes all the filler. You'll get some overlap in the beginning story with Brotherhood, but they pretty much cover the entire first half of Alchemist in something like the first six episodes of Brotherhood, then it's all original content after that. In my opinion Brotherhood tells a Much better story, and if you liked Alchemist I would strongly recommend watching thru Brotherhood.

So you don't need to watch the first full metal alchemist series before watching brotherhood?

You do not Have to watch the first before you watch the second as other than sharing the same beginning they are completely different stories. If you want to watch them both however, I would recommend watching the first series first due to the way Brotherhood abbreviates the shared beginnings thus getting you to new content quicker.

The first movie, Conquerer of Shambala (sp?) is a sequel to the first series and will certainly spoil the ending if you watch that movie before you've finished the series. The second movie is a Brotherhood movie, but is more one of those that takes place in some ambiguous place in the timeline and doesn't really relate to the overall plot at all or spoil anything that I can remember.

I tried to watch the first series but kind of got bored of it. Maybe I'll give it another go and see what happens.
Thanks!

So, with the airplane travels between Denmark and Portugal I now have extra anime time and finally watched the first 2 of the Evangelion remake movies. I was a bit scared because NGE is my favorite anime and I kinda delayed it a lot... well, I was wrong, very wrong, them movies are made of fething awesome and win.

Also, I really don't want plot with my Yuushibu. I really don't want this anime to go the "Serious Business" route.

Yeah they do seem to be taking a turn down srs bsnz stradt but it looks like it's gonna be fun and I think... uh... spoilers time I think

Spoiler:
I think it's gonna end up with Raul handing out some serious beat downs to save Fino, and possibly getting saved in return. Which will be incredibly awesome and character building for everyone involved. If it doesn't end with a kiss between Raul and Fino then we'll know a second season's been green lit.

on the forum. Obviously

Well, I watched all seasons of slayers. It's ok I guess. Rezo's whole motivation for the things he does bothers me though. For a blind man, he's pretty good at drawing arcane circles and deflecting attacks.

Now, who should I go onto next I wonder...

Alright, so I just finished up with Ergo Proxy, so I thought I give my thoughts on it:

Anime doing Psychological themes a large amount of the time (i.e A large Majority but not all of them) have two things happen to them: a) The Anime comes off as too pretentious and people at times and some of the people who are fans of it b) The director focuses too much on the Psychological aspects of it, making the story suffer rather greatly because of it or c) a little bit of the former and latter.

Ergo Proxy actually manages to actually bypass what I have stated before for the most part, with the Psychological aspect being well-thought out with it not being overbearing or affecting the story to a large degree. I also give props for having a very good setting (Not too original, but rather unique for a post-apocalyptic setting), and the animation and art direction fitting the theme and setting of the anime while being very organic and beautiful to look at.

With that being said, there are a few flaws a noticed with it. The story seemed kind of weak in the middle, with a big plot point being given away almost at the beginning-middle part of it and seemed to dragged on for the middle part. Also, the soundtrack, while being fit for the setting, is kind of forgettable save for the OP (In which is one of the best OP I have heard in a while).

With all this being said, it is an anime I suggest people give a try despite it not being so well known. Mostly I think it is possibly a one time watch as it wraps its story up pretty well but maybe more if you plan to show it to a friend.

With that out of the way and not really related to Ergo Proxy, here is something I found the other day:

7-1 fanservice you say?

Sounds kind of like IS, minus robots plus knights. Will probably give it a look.
