OK, so I can't imagine there is nearly anyone who could possibly have been interested in this movie who has yet failed to see it, but the August news post has come to fruition, along with some new stuff.

The Blu-Ray is now available for $15.
There is now a new, non-collector's DVD for $13.
There remains a 720p digital download for $7. People who have gotten it in previous threads report it is DRM-free.
The soundtrack is now available for $5, and like 6 different languages.
The Collector's Edition is still available for $40 (incl. shipping)
Both the DVD and the Blu-Ray are now available on Amazon, where they have had less-then-stellar reviews.

from what I hear, this movie was bad, but for 15 bucks, I might just pick it up. Always a good time watching some crappy movies with friends lol. And who knows, maybe its not as bad as what people say

i havent seen it in any normal shops (or games workshop, come to think of it), but i might get it online.

if it was bad, it was the choice of battle, it was too generic, it should have been one of the legendary battles: armageddon, maccragge, etc...

(i read the wiki, in case you are wondering how i know this)

In all honesty, it's not that bad of a movie. It's definitely above the standard of "I turned this off after 15 minutes" that films such as starship troopers 2 have managed to instil in me.

Just lower your expectations going in and you'll really enjoy it... the voice acting and overall "feel" of 40k is pulled off quite well. Try to predict the plot twists if you want to keep yourself amused, you might figure it out, you might not.

I enjoyed it just as much as Damnatus, and the plot even made more sense!

Mmmm, that soundtrack for $5 is really tempting... I liked the movie (wasn't a 5 star blockbuster by any means, but you get the 40k feel from it), but the music was by far the best part of it...

Might pick up the blu-ray in the near future.

If you can keep your head, while all about you are losing their's, then you have probably completely misunderstood the situation!

Having seen it I'm glad I didn't fork out for the collector's edition. I definitely want a copy for my own so this is good, anyone have an opinion on whether a download is better than a DVD?

It's better resolution. Otherwise it depends on if you mostly watch things in a living room on a player, or instead on a laptop, HTPC, or PC. If the former, get the disc, if one of the latter, get the download.

Awesome! Now I can see muddy smoke backgrounds and overly dark interiors that were too expensive to animate properly finally in high def! :( Too little, too late. Until this ends up in the walmart $5 movie bin, I won't be picking it up. The Space Marine video game cutscenes were better animated than this movie.

I thought it was ok, nothing super special but id rather have a space marine movie than not.
They have to start somewhere, its not like they had a huge budget, what do people expect ?

It was a pretty good movie.

That CGI did it a lot of justice.

They have any more of these movies coming out?

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

The quality of the CGI is wasted on blu-ray. Or should I say that the quality of the movie doesn't justify a blu-ray release...

watch it on youtube.

In this, we agree. Much like adult movies with a low talent budget, being able to see every little detail won't enhance the product.

Well I bought the soundtrack. There’s a very old adage that goes: ‘You get what you pay for’.

And yeah, the Ultramarine soundtrack was worth every penny I paid for it... and not a penny more.

For anyone who wants a really good Space Marine soundtrack, I suggest this. I’m listening to it right now, and it is everything the Ultramarine soundtrack should have been.

I tried to watch this, but it was really quite painful. I lasted about 30 minutes. I'm sure I'll go back and finish it one day. At some stage. Probably.
