Ok I'm confused. The way I understand it is for every 10 boys you have, one boy van use a big shoota/rocket launcha. So if I have a full mob but upgrade a boy to a nob I have 29 boyz and 1 nob. So that means 2 big shootas/rocket launchas, but now I'm told you take 3. This makes no since to me 29 is not 30.

The order in which you take the upgrades is not specified, so you are doing the following:

Take 30 boyz
Upgrade 1 to Nob (so now you are at 29 boyz and 1 nob)
Upgrade weapons (for every 10 boyz, take x)
You can only take 2 as you only have 29 boyz

To get 3 weapons in a boyz mob do the following:
Take 30 boyz
Upgrade weapons (for every 10 boyz take x)
You can take 3 weapons as you have 30 boyz
Upgrade 1 to Nob (Now 29 boyz with 3 heavy weapons + Nob)

Et voila, 3 weapons & Nob in a 30 boyz unit!

But still in the end it's 29 Boyz and not 30. Not sure how it works but still say it's 29.

1+2=3, 2+1=3 not matter what way you do the math it is still 3. Same for 29, no matter what way you do the math it is still 29.

So whil you do that latter as Leigen Zero said, it is still 29 in the end.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Actually, the entry says for every ten "Orks" in the squad, since we pretty much have to assume a Nob is an Ork, that fullfillment is met with 3x weapons for a 30x "Ork" Boyz squad.

You can even upgrade one of those "Orks" with a Big Shoota to a Nob and give him a PK to take full advantage of his number of attacks.

5,000pts ++
4,700pts ++
3,000pts
1,500pts
when I get around to them.

Yup, the upgrades are dependent on the number of Orks, not the number of Boys.

So 29 Boyz and a Nob means you can have 3 weapons.

Just to Confuse you further:

For this same reason you can have the Nob carry the big Shoota/Rokkit Launcha.

The nob is an Ork, and for every 10 Orks, 1 Ork can exchange his Slugga or Shoota for the Special gun.

The final net result is the exact same excepting 2 things:
1) you now only have 2 model types in a 10-model mob; 9 boyz, and a Nob, as opposed to the 3 that would be in any other version(8 Boyz, 1 boy with different equipment, and a Nob)

and

2) The Special weapon now has 2 Wounds before it dies.

You can still take the PK(and the BP); the PK exchanges from the Choppa, the Big shoota exchanges from the Slugga(bosspole is just taken).

Breakdown goes: buy 10 Boyz, upgrade 1 to nob, exchange Choppa for PK, exchange Slugga for Big Shoota, buy Bosspole(likely exchange everyone else's Slugga and Choppa for a Shoota); possibly make the unit 'ard boyz if you really wanted to(you could also have just bought the Nob 'Eavy Armor if you do not make this unit your 1 'Ard boyz unit).

And yes, 1-handing a big Shoota while swinging a power Klaw around is very Orky!

Actually, the big shootaz from both the lootaz box and the boyz box are one-handed anyways.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

But note that this has nothing to do with their game profile, it's just for rule of cool looks. Same with Terminator Storm Bolters and so on - just because the model happens to hold them in one hand doesn't make them one-handed weapons when you determine if you can get +1A for two CCWs. ;-)

One or two-handed has no effect on shooting weapons whatsoever. A weapon is only ever two-handed if the rules say so, even if the nob decided to wear the big choppa on his head and headbuts people with it.

They are only truly "1-handed" (model-wise) when you don't include the ammo-feed.

Orks prefer to fire their Big Shootas like how John Rambo fires an M60.
