I don't mean, proxying whole armies. I mean, how do you feel about people proxying individual units with ones from other games. Like, proxying a Warmachine warcaster for an HQ because the person likes the look of it?

Umm I don't know warmachine too well, but I have no issue with any level of proxy, I'm happy to just get a game. Some are a bit more exacting however

Rule of cool. I won't have a RC car as a Land Raider, but a WW2 Spitfire as a Valkerie should be fine, as long as it has suitible conversions. I would quite happily play someone using a LOTR Balrog as a Daemon prince or Greater Daemon, I have thought about trying that many times myself.

My Little Ponies can be used as great steeds of Slaanesh in my opinion.

As long as it doesn't detract from the game, I have no problem. Similar size and appropriate weapons goes a long way to smooth things over. On the other hand, too big/ small and armed with melee weapons instead of ranged weapons can cause confusion, especially if this is army wide.

I've never caught flak over my Elysian SM scout snipers because they're modeled with appropriate gear. If I plopped a Tonka truck down as a Rhino, I'm sure there'd be some issues.

If it's done for an advantage, I don't care for it. If it's done for theme/ taste, I can appreciate it and don't have a problem.

Tbh, the only thing that is important is similar size for obvious reasons. Otherwise, I wouldn't say no to pretty much any proxy.

I would be a bit miffed if someone I played on a regular basis never bothered to get the right model if they used the proxy everytime. I wouldn't refuse to play them or anything, though.

If its a suitably converted model, then I'm cool with it (but then its counts as and not proxy).

This. If it looks like it fits, then it's okay with me.

As long as they are on the right size base, or well converted I don't care what company make them. It's all good. Have fun with your bad self.

Agree with all the others, if it looks anything like the intended model, is a similar size and looks good. I myself have considered doing that a few times, especially with the Trollforged alien line for my Nids.

Does it look awesome? Does it accurately represent the thing that it's proxying?
It is of an appropriate size?

Then go for it. That is one of the purposes of the hobby I believe.

I've been playing against my friend's Chaos army using his Tau and proxying them as all kinds of crazy, just to see what I'm going to start up again with. It didn't work out too well when we decided to see if I still liked 'nids...
