Are VC and Demons still considered powerful in 8th edition? How about WoC?

Vc are still usable they win games have some nasty set ups.

Daemons still competitive and so are woc.

Only thing that got majorly nerfed in 8th is the daemon magic but they still do it really well.
That and cav isnt super op anymore.

VC is still goo,d althou they depend on a good battle plan. Very much competative still.

Daemons are still solid, magik is no long super effective. but ti still preforms pleasning enough I suppose

WoC are still a powerhouse, Marauders & Warriors galore

Vampires are my death star army, a killing machine vampire lord with a battle standard carrying the drakenhof banner to give the unit regeneration, a vampire with the blood drinker sword to restore wounds, a weight king to kill dragons and greater daemons with heroic killing blow and a large unit of blood knights.
Add to this a few terrorgheist and huge blocks of skeletons with spears.

WoC has the most variety and model choices. And they have some really really cool looking models.

VC models are pretty ugly IMHO.

Daemons have some good ones.


WoC can really be anything. Or nearly. Maybe not super shooty, but that's about it. Daemons are about in that same category. Both are far more elite than VC, which is going to generally have a lot cheaper units and consequently more of them.

Vampires are also the big daddies of VC whereas there's not such a dependence on a sole general of the chaos boys.

Many of the VC models suffer from old age. That may not be enough to turn you away.

The WoC have a amazing range of models and have such a straight forward play style. Point and charge.

You can do more than just point and charge.
You can also get charged still win combat and run down your opponent.

They are getting re-done in January though so don't let that put you off

They definitely need new Black Knights.

So? My Gors can get charged and fight off targets. They have smashed Dark Elf blocks just fine.

I think thats the charm really of the WoC. You just smash whatever stood in your way. And move onto more core or a hero until all what's left are twitching corpses.

And VC are next? This is very much worth a look. I'd like to see new models like the Cairn Wrath and the Necromancer. May just make another fantasy army after my beastmen are done.
