so after taking friendly lists to the last throne of skulls ive decided my next list is gonna be a list of beardy cheese, or as close to it as i can make.

So this is my army, 18 twin linked lascannons, 12 melta guns, 7 plasma guns.

If i get first turn i deploy all scout and shoot best as possible. If i get second i outflank all using the astropath for re-rolls to side and +1. Officer of the fleet is there to try and get my opponents army in bits

Pretty solid list, the Vendettas give you the edge against any similarly drop pod oriented lists, which is usually the only problem with drop lists is a mirror match, but you will have mobility over them. I'd like to see some form of flamers, but I am not sure the loss of melta/plasma power would justify it in the bigger picture of things.

Watch out for infantry based missile spam armies like Space Wolves (or even Grey Knights), because Vendettas are not terribly difficult to destroy, especially in squadrons. If you go first you have a solid advantage, but if 15 Long Fangs or 3 Psyfleman Dreads get the drop on you they could potentially wreck or damage all 6 of those ships in one turn. As a Space Wolves player, I find that the lists that give me the most trouble include large numbers of Leman Russ variants, and I am consistently able to shred Air Cav without much trouble.

what happens if you go up against a horde army like orks or something, with like 150+ boyz?

It is a solid list but like others are saying it will have it's weakness vs certain lists. Hordes will likely laugh this off and overwhelm you simply with the numbers.

You will have little trouble with mech lists which are more common anyway in a tourny setting. Should do well for you.

Orks or nids could take you out with numbers but should have difficulty taking out all those vendettas. Keep them moving which will make it tough to hit with PK's. Target lootas with your lascannons and get them running off the table early.

If there is a kan wall all that las should do a hurt.

Yeah, list looks fine for what it does. Your limitations may be exploited by seasoned players. Objective games will be an issue. You still have the limitations of squadrons of Vendettas. Your plasma and melta is worthless till they actually leave the vehicle, and if the vehicle blows up your squad is probably gone with it. As long as you understand your short comings, go for it and good luck.

Oh, make sure you go over the rules with the people running the tourney on your outflanking vehicles. Since the model is so big, I have heard of some people having issues with the vehicle hanging off the table edge. Get this figured out ahead of time!

You could drop two Vendettas for Valks with pods to give you some anti-hoard. Throw the CCS and a Vet squad in the Valks then.

Yeah, squadron rules are pretty crippling for most vehicles with the destroyed on an immobilized roll. Pretty much what everyone else has said, hordes will eat you, and you can still only take out a maximum of three vehicles per turn. Your opponent on the other hand only has three units to shoot at until the soft gooey insides come out. That and finding cover will make this a challenge.

For the theme though, looks about as good as it can get using the IG book.

good armor killer list. would have a strong chance of decimating most armies. I would drop one of the plasmas in the command squad for a medic though, but that is just me.

that being said if you ever fight a hording army (orks or a non-standard tyranid army) your in trouble.

I wonder, can you block the entirety of your opponent's side of the board with 6 Vendettas? It looks like a mobile army that reserves everything could give you trouble by denying the Alpha Strike, but that would be dangerous if you can block their entry.

Dark Eldar would still be a problem, though, and you obviously can't block their skimmers. It's particularly problematic that your Vendettas can only engage 3 targets a turn.
