Whats with the Irish?

First one is : "Depriving him of the truth, blah blah blah"
The second one is more like : "He's a mere acrobat, and he has too much respect for himself"

I just googled them, apparently Elder, the language of one of the oldest races in the universe, is a cheap gaeilge knock off.

Google can't help? I've been looking, but the oldest date I've found was the first century BC, but that's for Ogham.

BTW not trying to flame or anything, Im actually interested

That's a very strange statement. What exactly don't you trust about google? The fact that they are a company? Or are you implying that google is wrong?

Durza wrote:Well, according to J.P.Mallory, Irish in its earliest form began with the Celts around 1200BC, which is pretty good.

Celtic and Irish are two different languages as far as I know. Celtic is a Gaulish language originating in Europe. While Irish is a Gaelic Language brought to Ireland by the Gaelic Scots. (This is all from memory from LC about 4 years ago, so it could be wrong) Unless you mean Irish culture, which was brought in by the Celts.

Any quotes? If we are going by earliest form, I'm going with Sumerian @2900BC. or Greek @ 1425 - 1375 BC. But I'm almost sure the oldest surviving language is Hebrew
