The second one would be one of my more favourite Inquisition quotes. It's about misdirection pretty much.

but one of my favorites is when Azeriah Kyras has his speech in DoW2 retribution...




best part is how he says skulls for the skull throne, let the galaxy burn...

but my favorite from a codex/book has to be "Dakkadakkadakka, Waaagh! the orks! WAAAGH!!!!" - Ork taction

If that's the Eldar language, GW is even lazier than I thought. Though the second one actually means 'They're nothing but tricks, and he thinks too much of himself.'

Least fav: pretty much all the Khorne bezerker lines. They're uninspired and grammatically redundant. It's okay for orks but you'd expect genetically-engineered superhumans dedicated to a millennia-old god to have something slightly more profound to say.

If you want profound, ask Tzeentch or Nurgle. Or the other half of Khorne's followers, the ones we never see. Tacticians, strategists, diplomats... no, it had to be maniacs with axes.

T'was ever thus. The names of Eldar Craftworlds and character names and all examples of Eldar speech have been Gaelic-inspired, sometimes directly taken, text.

For myself, I have no specific list of favorite quotes, or even a short list or even a "Top Ten". In an entirely different RPG and setting, an MMO, I have a character who is a citizen of an empire ruled by a single, evil tyrant called "The Overlord". You would be amazed how well 40K phrases work in that setting with only slight changes.

But, here, then, are some that I use the most frequently in that or a 40K setting in character-driven dialog. Simply replace "Emperor" with "Overlord" in the appropriate places.

"My armor is contempt."
"Even a man who has nothing may still give his life for the Emperor."
"Cease and repent!"
"Know that, even as we die, our blood, too, is welcome."
"Our Empire floats upon a sea of the blood of martyrs."
"Our Empire is built upon the bones of martyrs."
