Hey all.
I've been in and out of the WH40K hobby since 2nd edition. I recently moved, and had planned to dump my models in my brother's garage, presumably never to be seen again. Not only did my marines somehow end up in my new apartment, but somewhere along the way I got inspired to start a new army. The plastic crack strikes again...
I'm primarily into fluff, painting, converting and meta-gaming rather than playing the actual game. That said, I do enjoy getting obliterated on the table occasionally. I currently have about 1500 pts. of mechanized marines constructed and mostly painted (custom chapter). My current goal is to finish them up before moving on to another army. I'd like to start something that plays entirely differently, but doesn't have an outrageous model count. Leaning towards either Dark Eldar or airborne Imperial Guard atm.
My favorite list size is 1,000 points. It's just big enough to give you some flexibility and access to some of the more interesting units, while being small enough that you really need to put some thought into your list building.

Welcome back....GW missed you. Now that that is out of the way I would say go dark eldar as the models are absolutely gorgeous and their model count is not to bad depending on what kind of list you run.
