Subject: Coolest Jump Packs, GW or aftermarket?

So I've decided to kitbash together a squad of Vanguard Veterans for my BA. I want them to look unique and fancy,so I will be using a mix of Death Company, assault marines and the command squad box.
Now I could use plain ASM packs, or the fancier DC packs, but then I came across these:
Those are just awesome. But I'm wondering, what else is there out there that I have not seen? Do any other companies make awesome jump packs?
Side question: do these http://www.maxmini.eu/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=12&products_id=88 only fit terminators or will they fit marines as well?

Hmm, new jump-packs. If you're going for a pre-heresy look, Chapterhouse makes some good ones. I really like these new ones from Maxmini, and of course regular jump packs are always an option. Sanguinary Guard have a single-thruster pack if you're interested there.

The only problem I see with the jet pack pictured is that it is pre weathered. You'll have to make the models weathered like the packs or it will look strange. If your going for the clean look those packs won't work. But they do look awesome and since you're kitbashing it would be even easier to add some chinks and dents.

these are some pics of my vanguard/honor guards in progress using the Chapterhouse packs. They come with metal trim flaps as well but I haven't put them on

Ah, good point. I do plan on weathering the VV a bit though.
Does anyone know a webiste that sells Maxmini stuff but doesn't use Paypal? I don't have a paypal account :/ Warstore sells their stuff but they don't have the bronze pattern jump packs. If I can't find a site I'll probably just end up ordering FW mk V assault squad and adding BA bitz.

You can setup a paypal account for free. Also, usually most websites that use paypal allow you to pay via credit/debit card, sometimes, via checking account.

Doesn't look like much of the wear is molded in.
Also, just got my friend to order me 2 packs of packs, so soon my VV and sanguinary priests will have nice fancy packs

They're a little larger than I expected, but I think they'll look really nice painted up.

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

Hmmm the max mini ones do seem to be a bit too big for regular marines. Looks a bit awkward. If you don't mind paying the prices, the Forgeworld assault squads have some VERY nice looking jump packs: http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Space_Marines/Space_Marine-Infantry-Accessories/MK-V-SPACE-MARINE-ASSAULT-SQUAD.html
They're of the perfect proportions IMO and much better than anything Chapterhouse makes though you do end up paying a premium for them.

I intend to pick up a couple of sets of FW Assault Marines at some stage, though I'll also grab some more from MaxMini as well, including those new ones pictured above (I've got a set of the studded ones).

Really?? REALLY? "You are complaining about the proportions of aftermarket parts? GW's stuff isn't to any known proportions. The legs and bodys are 28mm (25mm) The arms, heads and weapons are 32mm eventhough it's all under the 28mm 'heroic' scale. Thats one thing I never got people look at other companys models and say " well they are not properly proportioned like GW's stuff is" Really??. Honestly I think GW stuff looks like gak total and utter gak. The only passable stuff I like from GW proper (not FW they atleast know how to sculpt properly) is when people True-Scale marines. Atleast they look like the proper size next to the Cadians and they tower over the DkoK like they should.
Those maxmini jump packs look awsome same with the Chapter House backs. The FW ones also look ace but I believe ( im not shure on this) they have a different attachment point not just the round knob on the back that most marine models use.

My point on proportions is based on relative size to the normal space marine. The Max mini ones are a bit too big and bulky as can be seen in the pictures. Personally I prefer the Forgeworld or Sanguinary Guard jump packs to those or the ones by Chapterhouse.
