I just made a birthday gift for a friend of mine 
She's quite a geek and into this sort of stuff so this should do just fine.
Here are few pics:
The black object is a lid for a small wooden jewellery box I made into a container for these. Necron theme added

And here's how they look from the bottom - simple earring piece you can get at hobby craft stores...

Nice idea! I remember seeing some Ripper earrings once.
Make sure they're well varnished before she puts them on- it'll prevent the paint rubbing off on her earlobes.
