Back before all this Tau craziness, I used to be a BattleTech player. Still love those 'Mechs, so here's one I did a while back.

This started as a Ban-Dai 1/100 scale model of the Macross Tactical Glaug Pod. A little conversion and some paint, and now it's The Bounty Hunter's feared Marauder in the 3025 Universe.
I made the hex base, so now it's a giant Ral Partha mini. enjoy!

This model is also on CMON as well, if you would like to, feel free to vote on it!

Thanks for looking!

Wow, that is one beautiful Marauder. Just a quick question, doesn't the text list the Bounty Hunter's 'mech as having gold/yellow dollar signs painted on it? Or am I thinking of a different pilot?

That's awesome, I love the classic mechs from before the lawsuits. 2 PPCs and an Autocannon, heck yea! You did a great job painting. Great weathering effects. This makes me want to dig out my Macross Defender aka Rifleman and update it with a better paint job! Thanks for sharing!

I don't like the pose very much to be honest...

But that's literally the only criticism I can come up with, the paint job and weathering is fantastic, and I'm having a little nerd-out over here seeing something so nostalgic to me being so well represented.

I'm a huge battletech fan. Its what got me into table top in the first place, and it was mechwarrior that got me into video games. But no matter how much I like them I stopped making the minis because Ironwind Metals, frankly, sucks. I'm going to assume that this is some kind of Macross/Robotech kit? Wish I could find a cool Atlas to do one of my own.

I'm Old Skool when it comes to BattleTech, so I went off of my original Tech Readout 3025 description of the Bounty Hunter. Then later on I find out that in the more recent fluff that the Bounty Hunter has a unit of apprentices. I don't like that so much. I always saw him as a loner. Now they're trying to tell me he has a unit? He ain't Green Lantern, that's for sure!

CobraFive, the model is fully pose-able, except for the feet. I had to glue those to the base.
BattleTech is what started everything for me too. the model is a BanDai Macross kit, I'd love to find one of the old Armorcast Atlas kits too.

Depraved, I'd love to see the Defender/Rifleman, I still have a Spartan/Archer left, but I'm saving that to do up real nice later.

There's no school like the old skool. But I was specifically referring to the entry in the 3025 readout. It was a one-line throwaway, but I think it said something like: "painted all green with credit symbols". I'll double check my 3025 readout when I can.

At any rate, it's still a stellar job. Is this something you've had sitting around for a while before you painted it, or did you pick it up recently? If it was a recent purchase, where did you get it?

ah, that's the one. actually I didn't have anything that I liked to use as victory/kill markers in the decal department at the time. so I used the GW kill hash-mark symbols and just placed them over parts of the mech. Since they're dark, they blend in a little too much and don't pop, unfortunately.

The model kit is the 25th aniversary re-issue of the Macross series. I had that sitting for a while then decided to finally put it together. You can find them on ebay and other places, but the 1/100scale (and larger) are not that cheap. the Glaug Pod is noticeably larger than the SDF destroids, so that's the only bad part when placing them in a BattleTech setting when they're basically compareable in tonnage to the Tomahawk/Warhammer, Defender/Rifleman/ Spartan/Archer mechs. The marauder almost looks like a 100+ ton assault monster next to the rest!

How big is it. Need an apple for scale. The paint job is great. I am also a big fan of pre lawsuit BT. Would love to grab a 1/60 scale Tomahawk and repaint it into a N. Kerensky black widow!

My thoughts, the Bounty Hunters mech is covered with 'credit symbols'.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

ok, no apple, but have a spray can and one of my Tau for scale. and Natasha Kerensky? -Got ya covered. although a 1/60 would be awesome. both of the models are 1/100 scale, but I guess they go by Zentradi size.

Beautiful work! You did a legendary Battletech character's ride justice.

Not to harp on the credit symbol issue because it has been brought up enough, but the Bounty Hunter Marauder in my collection has credit symbols both ancient and contemporary for the setting. So, the dollar bill symbol, the c-bill symbol, the yen symbol, ect. I found it a fun way to convey the rather vague description of the markings while staying true to the mercenary aspect of the character.

The giant hex base is also a brilliant touch. Do you have any of the old Armorcast `Mechs to play large scale games with?

This is probably the best weathering I've seen on a model in a while. Very realistic as it looks like it's been walking thru brush and what have you.

ooooooooohh Fang of the Dougram. I've seen from time to time a 'Dougram Bigfoot' floating around on Yahoo Japan, but the price just kills me and the Revell kit is impossible to find.

Of course the Bounty Hunter has apprentices. Someone has to absorb fire from the target, and why should it be him?

That's ridiculous!!! I'm loving the Black Widow!! I've never seen an in scale glaug and tomahawk side by side. I always imagined them somewhat the same ish in size. I'd say for Battle that 1/60 scale Tomahawk might be the same size height as the 1/100 glaug. Now I'm wondering how tall a 1/100 VF-1 Valk is to that Glaug.

THE FUN HAS BEEN DOUBLED!!!
