Hey guys, I was traveling back from a business trip, and I passed a sign for Lake Huron-so of course, all I could think of was "Huron Blackheart has his own lake?" Anyway, post things that you see in real life that make you think of something Warhammer related. Fantasy or 40k, which is why I put it in general discussion, not 40K discussion. I wanna hear the cool things that people have seen that relate/make them think of Warhammer. Names of places that coincide are a great place to begin. Thanks for feeding my curiosity.

Well every once in a while, I see some really ugly monster walking down the street, and I think "OH MY GOD IT'S AN ORK!" But then I realise it's just some teenager who needs to shower........

Actually there are many things that make me think of 40K, but nothing in specific. I see things, think about it, then forget. and try to remember later.

This is the kinda thing I'd like to see. Props to the bio cortex one for warmachine, I just didn't include it because I know nothing of the WM world. Keep adding guys, this is for learning purposes.

Have a lot of sex with hermaphrodites, listen to death metal and do a lot of cocaine, you should be set. But the point of the thread was to post things you see that share names with things in WH. Like the Horus and Huron things earlier. Also, add Horus from the Egyptian gods to the list.

I like to imagine the Emperor kills so many Orks that he ends up half buried beneath a pile of corpses, with only his head sticking out. A lone grot stumbles across him, and starts choking him.

Then Horus comes across the lone grot, somehow managing to kill the Emperor, and punts it into space.

This.

I also realized a fellow student was cheating on an essay (It was writing your own creation story) because they copypasta'd the Eldar Birth and fall from Lexicanum, word for word.

Holy crap, just reading about neutron particles, aka ghost particles. Loved what I read, here's a link; http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/10364160

The key points were

1) "Neutrinos are sometimes known as "ghost particles" because they interact so weakly with other forms of matter."
2) The neutrino particle comes in three "flavours": muon, tau and electron.

There's actually a chain of thrift-stores in the Netherlands called 'Xenos'.
So when a few weeks ago I saw a facebook post saying something along the lines of:
"I got this cute this-and-that from xenos yesterday"
my literal first thought was: "you can't barter with xenos, heretic!".

And then it dawned on me...

About 20 years ago, the main gaming stores in my area were Xenos Comics...

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money

"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell
