Does this even exist in the current edition? I have read a few posts here and there mentioning it (something about if your natural strength is double the targets T), but can't find any reference to it in the BRB.

Any clarification appreciated!

As above, poisoned attacks can automatically wound.

Also, high strength attacks and some modifier along the lines of the modifier from Flaming Sword of Rhuin will cause automatic wounds as well.

I suggest you don't believe anything posted by thedarkavenger unless confirmed by other regular posters here at Dakka. He has shown he is incapable of basic English comprehension.

And the Rune Fang (Empire magic weapon, I think it's called that) can as well.

Basically, if you wound on a 2+ and have some sort of modifier to wound(like Flaming Sword) you will wound automatically.

then there is poison.

Isn't a roll of a one always a fail though?

Not with wounding.

And 1s always being a failure only applies to certain types of rolls. there are some where its always a success, like Characteristic tests.

Flaming sword gives +1 to wound, standing on top of an Anvil of whatchamacallit (special hill terrain) gives +1 to wound.

The latest FAQ for the basic rule book clarifies that a 1 to wound doesn't always fail. So if you would normally wound on a 2+, and you get a +1, you always wound.
