I have been thinking about a futuristic race that joins the 40k universe. Just an idea but I wanted to know what people are think about this.

The Destroyed
Their story is that all the citizens of every town or city that has suffered because of the intergalactic war has banded together to kill anything that stands in their path. They care not for death, as if they run nothing but death will await them. Over generations, the children of the Consumed have developed a natural resistance to most wounds and poisons. They take weapons from everything and anything and have no base of operations. They wander, loot and kill.

You get the idea.

Special Rules
Like the Orks 'WAAAAAGGGGHHHH' and the Space Marines 'And they shall know no fear', The Destroyed have a racial special rule: We Don't Care. We Don't Care can be activated once a game and every model that the controlling player owns benefits from Fearless, Feel no Pain, Hold The Pain, Bulletstorm, Moar Dakka and Regen Special Abilities for one turn. This represents every man, woman and child losing fear and opening up every gun into the enemy, and not flinching as they know if they run nothing awaits them.

Moar Dakka Any ranged weapons carried by the unit add one to the amount of shots fire (eg Assault 2 becomes Assault 3).

Bulletstorm Every weapon fired counts as TL. A TL weapon gets a third re roll. Rapid Fire weapons count as assault 3 and Heavy Weapons count as assault x. x=however many shots they would normally have.

Hold The Pain: If a unit fails it's FNP roll, roll a D6. On a 1,2,3 or 4 the wound carries out as normal, on a 5 or 6 the unit doesn't get wounded until the end of the turn. (no FNP roll allowed) Example, A crazy desperado is shot. It gets hit and wounded and fails its Armor Save. It rolls a D6 and gets a 6. At the end of the noobs next assault phase it takes the wound and dies.

Regen:
If the target suffers an unsaved wound, roll a D3
1 & 2: no effect
3: The unit the model is in goes to ground. If the unit is not interacted with for 1 turn, the model regains the wound, at the cost of one gun (chosen by opponent)

If this is the wrong place to post, I apologise, I'll change it to wherever needed.

What does Dakka think?

I think that that rule is just a tad overpowered, unless you made them a mainly CC army. Secondly, you havent really explained what they are, are they xenos, or humans? Also you call them the Destroyed, then start talking about the Consumed, is that a typo?

But why? Why would these people want to destroy everything in their path?

Does it matter? The Necrons want to kill everything...

Yeah I changed their name a couple of times. I really need better ones but until I think of one I am just going to stick with this.

They are humans, but they have adapted to nearly anything. They want to destroy everything because they will be destroyed if the don't.

Yes, for the Red Harvest. I'm just saying the question needs to be answered for a good background for the army.

So do they work with or against the Imperium?

Against. Against everything. They want everything dead or dead enough to not fight. Then they stop fighting. They want to be left alone but they can't because there's always ork hordes or marine companies running around their cities and homes.

Making things like lascannons and missile launchers, or even lances, etc Twin-linked Assault 2, and twinned ones getting another re-roll in and of itself is excessive.

You need to think through and write down your background, decide on what the basic HQ and troop is going to be and figure out what armament they're going to have, applying the concept of logical balance to it.

THEN put it here and expand.
