I am making a list of Blood Angels and I was wondering which would be more competative. In my list I currently have the Furioso Librarian but I was thinking about swapping it out for a Furioso Dreadnought with heavy flamer and talons. So I want to know the viability of them both and which I shlould take.

Also I would like to know if I should have a Baal predator with Flame Storm cannon and heavy bolter sponsons or a second vindicator in my list.

Please check out my list http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/407367.page

Thanks for any Comments.

I'd go for the second vindicator. Redundancy is key with them...You might actually have a chance to fire the big, shiny cannon with two on the field!

I despise all Blood Angels, so....I will agree.

Oop, didn't look at the list, just spat the redundancy advise.

You need troops. You need troops.

That should be your first order of business. You only gots two squads with which to score.

Agree, you need Troops. At least 3 squads.

On Dakka he was Eldanar. In our area, he was Lee. R.I.P., Lee Guthrie.

I would swap the Flamestorm for an Assault Cannon. It goes better with the Heavy Bolters.

Mephiston works best with vehicles to hide behind, I'm not sure he'd work best in your list.

Even with my ridiculously limited experience, I would advise more troops. Lots more troops. the vindicator is probably not the best choice on it's own, and the Baal pred... well, template range means that the survivors will most likely assault you, unless they're tau, in which case they'll just railgun it to death. If you drop both, you get extra pts to spend on something else, preferably scoring. Drop the furioso libby to a standard furioso w/ double talons. potentially unlimited attacks is scary. Nothing better than a Furioso for large mobs of Boyz/ gaunt heavy 'nids.

I'd suggest running two Vindicators. In my experience, Baal Predators are good primarily as a way to effectively buy extra Heavy Support slots. I personally would never consider taking one until I'm already maxed out on HS. With two Vindicators and a Stormraven full of deadly stuff drawing fire, you might actually get 2-3 S10 pie plates worth of shooting.

I would strongly suggest you save points by not taking Hurricane Bolters or EA on the Furioso. Use them to give the Vindicators Dozer Blades and to upgrade a few Termies to TH/SS.

By the way, this style of list plays a lot better at 2000-2500. Your plan to add a VV squad at 2000 is frankly a bad one if you want to be competitive.
