They are very good paints you should try them I tend to use them with gw paints so that i have a broader selection of colours to choose from I also have a few vallejo paints to whether my vehicles most of all is that its all down to preference I might like them but you may not best advice I can give is buy a few colours and see if you like them that what I did

From what I have heard P3 are better for wet blending over Vallejo, I would be inclined to believe this as when ever I wet blend with my Vallejo, the finish can be rather delicate unless I coat the model.
I think that Vallejo is great, and the only reason why I have not switched to P3 is because of the investment I have in Vallejo, tuff to make the switch.
I think what I would like to do, is select a project/mini to do, and use just P3 paints on it to see what I think.

I absolutely love P3 paints, they are, in my opinion, the best on the market, the only pitfall is that the color options are very much based around the studio color schemes for the warmachine and hordes forces. As such, they have some VERY niche colors, but are missing some of the more obvious 'basic' colors.

The P3 inks are as good as the paint which is really excellent. The only problem I have with it is the pots. I prefer dropper bottles. I might buy some and put them in empty Vallejo dropper bottles. P3 has a very nice finish and take a bit longer to dry than most paints I have used. This is a good thing. The price is also competitive.

I only have a few P3 paints, but the ones that I do have are decent.
They are rather thick, so need to be thinned as soon as you get them, however they have a great amount of pigment, so you'll end up needing fewer layers.
As with all non Vallejo paints, I put them in 15ml dropper bottles.

Thank you for your replies. Very much appreciated.
I myself have spent a small bundle on Vallejo paints. About 400 bucks worth.
I would look forward to seeing if PP expands the range of paint to the level of Vallejo.
Perhaps I will replace some of my near empty vallejo paints with P3 to give it a test run.

Their normal paints are fantastic, but I have had issues with P3 metallics. I opened a couple of them to find they had the consistency of thick jello, and needed to be mixed with a large amount of water and stirred for a while before they became remotely usable (they are still pretty chunky).
Unfortunately mixing clean water with Molten Bronze turns it purple for some reason.

I've had the same problem with P3 metallics. I got a bad one and took it back to the store. The FLGS owner happily let me swap it out, but when I opened the replacement in the store it was bad too. The owner then opened the other three bottles he had to find one that was usable.

I have heard that PP will be re-issuing their metallic paints with a new formula. Suppose to be far better quality.

Haven't used them, myself, but I've heard that they're very specific, in that the range was designed by a single painter to suit a particular style. From what I gather, they're great for wet-blending with other P3 paints, but the same formulation that retards drying and smooths blends tends to react to other paints, causing cracking or failure to properly set - basically, I've heard that they don't play well with others.

I love the P3s I have. I might not switch my whole line over to them. The pots are nice if you liked the original citadel pots. The caps tend to break off which is annoying but is mitigated by the awesome product.

Agree about P3 paints being of excellent quality. Coverage is very good and there isn't as much pigment separation when diluting it with water. Vallejo seems to be bad at this and separates quite quickly, even on the pallet.
What others have said about the metallics is also correct, they had some issues initially that I've read are fixed now but I stick with GW metallics.
Also regarding the P3 paint pots, they are not as hand as the dropper bottles but they hold more paint AND the tops seal well meaning the paints are less likely to dry out vs the GW pots.

Bought 100£ worth of Formula P3 paints yesterday from the UK. Will be shipped shortly I guess. I'll try to give an uppdate on my experience with them after I have tried em out.
I'm confident that they will nto disapoint me, and as a person who have grown up with the old GW bottles with the white hats on them, I could'nt resist P3. I just loved the bottles GW used to have. The worst I'v experienced is the screwtop bottles GW made a few years ago. Damn those just did'nt come of sometimes, and the color dried up alot.
As for Privateer press's niched colorscheme I dont mind using it, a fresh go is nice sometimes.

I bought about 18 of them including 3 metallics and there are as good if not better then the GDub and Vals. I guess I got lucky as my silver, gold, and green gold are just fine. I would buy more but im interested in what GW is about to do.
