Heres the details:

Cost - $10 per person
Where - Ares Wargames
When - Sunday December 11th, 2011
Time - Games will START at 11:00 sharp

The following is information on the ETC format, and how things will be ran the day of the tournament:

- Your team MUST consist of 3 players
- Each player on your team MUST play a different army, so for example two of your teammates cannot play orks, or space wolves, etc.
- Lists will be 2,000 pts using a standard force organization
- Each team must assign one player to play as a "team captain"
- There will be 3 rounds of play, each round will be a 15 minute showdown + 15 minute setup + 2 hours to game for a total of 2 hours and 30 minutes per round
- Time will be STRICTLY ENFORCED. This means that at 2 hours exact players must either be finished, or be finishing a final turn. That means if your at 1 hour and 50 minutes do not start a turn 6 unless both of you can finish the turn.
- Missions for the rounds will be posted prior to the tournament for everyone to prepare for them.
- There will be several judges on site to help with rules questions

The Team Captains/Showdown Phase

1) Both teams meet up and the captains exchange lists and roll off. The winner of the roll may choose to pick first or second.
2) The team that picks first looks through the lists and chooses which of his players will play the owner of the list. Then, the second team picks who will play one of the two remaining lists, leaving the last 2 players playing.

The reason for this phase is to give the element of strategy to who you face; the goal is to have your captains try and line up matches that are advantageous to their team, while crippling their opponents. This makes for a much more interesting play environment; sometimes your team may be forced to feed a player to a really good player/list to allow for the team as a whole to accumulate more points.

So how are winners chosen?

If you've ever been to one of Chris Duncans Nova events, the way missions/matches play out are a lot alike.

- Each mission will have 3 objectives: a primary, a secondary, and a tertiary.
- If you "win" the match by Primary you automatically get 17 points, the losing player gets 3 points
- Winning by "secondary" with the primary tied means you get 14 points, the losing player gets 6 points
- Winning by "tertiary" with the other two tied nets you 11 points, the losing player gets 9 points
- A draw nets both players 10 points
- If a player wins primary and has the secondary and/or tertiary as well, they get max 20 points while his opponent gets 0 points
- If a player wins secondary and controls Tertiary as well, he gets 16 points while his opponent gets 4 points.

The goal is to win by as many objectives as possible, with the primary goal being your main focus. There will also be a possible 3 bonus points as well for each mission.

By the end of the 3 rounds your teams TOTAL points for all 3 players is tallied up, and a winner is decided by which team has the MOST overall points. This means that just because one guy loses all 3 games that your out; if your other two guys max out points every round theres still a good chance to come out on top!

So how do I register and when does registration end?

Registration will be held from Thursday November 3rd through Saturday December 10th. You may register as a team or individually (in which case you will be assigned to a team in need of players). Payment is due at the time of registration as we want to try and get prizes hashed away BEFORE the tournament (so you know what your playing for!)

Our goal is for 24 people MAX (making 8 teams total).

Proxies and other rules

Proxies will be judged on a case by case basis, however, I will tell you; entire proxy armies are prohibited, as well as models who are not close to the size of the actual model. As well, if most of your army is a proxy, it will probably not be allowed as we don't want mass confusion during games.

Counts-as armies ARE allowed as long as the models are modeled with items to represent wargear and to avoid confusion.

Painting is encouraged, but not required; There way be a "best painted" prize if we have the support, but otherwise they will not effect your score in any way.

Poor sportsmanship will not be tolerated; if you start throwing models, slamming things, or screaming it won't be tolerated. We all get angry sometimes, but throwing stuff and throwing a fit won't get you anywhere.
